OVF update: Msgs saying his website is insecure - please ignore

There is a drive to move websites to secure servers (https) to ensure information such as financial details are secure. It's fair enough - anything to stop people being scammed is a decent move.

However, some browsers may now warn that OVF or logging on to the forum is "insecure". There is no need for alarm. As you will know when you register you ONLY provide a username, password and optional personal information such as location, age etc.

So, browsers (who do not know what you are logging in to) may issue a warning but I would reiterate there is NO security risk to your finances by logging in to this site. The browser simply sees a login on an unsecured site and gives you a warning. The browser software has no idea that the login isn't to input financial or confidential details.

In the summer I am aiming to take the site onto a secure https server (this is another albeit relatively small cost to get a SSL certificate hence the continued importance of the site adverts to meet my outgoings).

When the move is complete browsers will view the OVF site as secure and the warnings will stop. But in the meantime please be assured that OVF is not insecure (we have rigorous anti malware processes) and does not hold any more details than your email address and some personal information.
