Not seen the video for a while. Couldn't really appreciate at the time how well we played first half.

We had really rubbish seats, they were stools if anything, at pitch level.

I couldn't see Dean Glover lift the trophy, impossible to see anything. I just stood around and waited for the cheer.

Have you got the video mate?

Maybe you could get it up on your youtube channel?

Not at the minute. It might be in the loft somewhere at my mum and dad's.

It wasn't the club video but a copy of the Sky footage. I'm going to book some holidays this summer and do nothing but convert old VHS tapes.

A legendary day out, that I always remember and dedicate to my late Mum, who enjoyed the day as much as anyone. She was well into her 70's at the time but breezed through the day out like a teenager.

The day after Vale reached Wembley by getting through the second leg against Exeter in the semi-final, she arranged to get tickets for the match for all the family (i'm the only Vale fan but whenever she came up from the London area to visit she was always keen to come to football at Vale). She always got most pleasure in life when she was doing things for other people.

We went to the match and joined in a great drink with loads of Vale fans and Stockport fans too - Mum loved it as some lads in fancy dress kept buying her drinks in the garden of a pub near the ground, we met up with my friends who live in the Potteries and all had a great time.

I was truly proud of the way Vale played and it shocked my brother who mainly only went to England matches at the time.

It was a very wonderful day and I still have a lot of great photographs of the event to remind me of it.
