Wycombe - isn't it great ?

I've just been reflecting on what this week would have been like if we hadn't equalised late on against Northampton. If Vale had needed a result of some sort at Wycombe, the tension and anxiety would have been almost unbearable and maybe those nerves would have transmitted to MA and the players a bit.

So extra, extra congratulations to the lads for getting what was needed in the last few games, especially the 3 important home games against Cheltenham (in my view this was the most crucial), Burton and Northampton.

Instead of a nerve-wracking contest that only needed a bad ref or some bad luck to put us in the playoffs, Wycombe can be and will be a superb celebration party where a win would be icing on the cake, but any result doesn't matter too much.

I wonder if some squad players will get at least a partial runout? It would be nice if players like Ryan Lloyd got on the pitch even if only for the latter stages as sub, and maybe even Sam Johnson could come on - can you imagine if he came on as late sub and we got a penalty which he took and scored ?

You won't be saying Wycombe is great when you are trying to leave at the end of the match, pure gridlock on the one only road :upthevale:

Nah! We'll just get out of the cars and have a party on 'the only one road'!....We dance where we want...we dance where we waaaaant....

We've already given Rotherham 8 good reasons why we are better than them, even if they should overtake us - with our 6-2 and 2-1 victories. I also think Aldershot might give them something to think about and they could end up being much more concerned about Cheltenham on their heels than catching Vale.

Cheltenham will probably beat Bradford who are in the playoffs regardless and have nothing to gain in this last match so will be saving themselves for their playoff games.

Good luck with your bet though.

Apparently, many Wycombe season ticket holders are less than chuffed as we have taken one of their stands and they have been moved for the match. A lad I work with is a Wycombe fan and his mother is threatening not to renew as a result!

Perhaps she should look at the bigger picture, they were in the **** not so long ago, a little like us I suppose and they need as much money as they can get. Moving for 1 measly game against a team celebrating promotion who are likely to take 3000 is hardly a problem, add to that the cash that they'll make fom the beer tent and it'll be a fair few quid. So much so they might even knock a few quid of her season ticket too the miserable mare.
