Season Tickets: availability; prices

What was adult price this season?

 

I think 272 or around that mark if memory serves me correctly

Like others, I would expect an adult to pay £300. This is based on last year's price of around £280 and the added fact we are now to play in League 1.

 

However it will be interesting to see what the owners do. Bear in mind we have no debts and Saturday's gate alone would probably have brought in match receipts alone of over £200k. The owners also do like to tempt fans with offers so there could be several different schemes to accommodate the different financial circumstances of fans. One idea I like is one that Bradford do where they charge £100 for a card and that card then entitles fans to pay £10 per game instead of the usual match rate. Something like this could tempt those who have not got a lot of money upfront.

 

It will certainly be an interesting announcement tomorrow.

Ideally Vale need to sell at least 7000 season tickets. If they could do this a chance too do well in League 1 would be on the cards.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if Smurf and Wildes could pull that off. Announcing the ticket prices now, when there's so much good will about, not to mention the realisation of saturday finally sinking in, is sure to help too.

If it's under £300, then they're massively underselling the product.

 

£340 ish with £20 off for renewals is about right.

I like to pay on the gate to increase season-long revenue and then send another couple of hundred in the post if the lads play well.

i think were all in agreement whatever the price, if the money is going to the club and not in deep pockets. then its money well spent IMO unlike the last shower who used the club as a cash cow

Gillingham have introduced a season-ticket card rather than a book of vouchers for next season. The card can be topped up like an Oyster Card to allow purchases in the shop and at refreshment kiosks within the ground. Good idea.

I don't see how football in the UK is so overpriced and some fans are happy paying it, have a look at how much it is for any other European league and then say more than £250 is acceptable.

It's all relative I guess. You can't put a price on how I felt on Saturday.

Being ripped off in the UK is not confined to football. We get ripped off with everything!

Here is an interesting read and maybe an eye opener. I'm not saying make it free but surely getting a 9k gate before walk ups would be much better all round.

I don't understand the idea of paying for a season ticket in instalments? Isn't the point that they bank the cash early? Pay on the gate or pay in advance surely? Or have I missed something.

Added to that I think I lost my ticket stub in the excitement on Saturday. Bugger!
