I've just seen it on the 'Villa website...WOW! What a volley of a goal.

 

Stoke had just got back into the game but after that 2nd goal, and if I remember correctly, the commentators said it destroyed any chance for 'the Potters' to get back into the game :yes;

He isolates certain players and yesterday with 5 mins to go we had only 3 outfield players playing in the positions they started in.

nah....nothing like....I was sat behind the goal for that one.....it didn't have the same power and just wrong footed the keeper :) at the time, Vorm was criticised....Yesterdays had everything....power, control, technique....unbelievable strike

Yep, it wasn't just the strike that made it a wonder goal it was also the timing of it with Stoke back in the game having just scored and their supporters thinking they were going to go on and win.

Stoke did not play well. Their model of play is not being well implemented and they are simply not scoring enough goals. However, in the end the result turned on a one off spectacular goal with no real blame on the defence. So they should not get too despondent. Hopefully they will survive.
