1994 Half-time Playlist

The Pet Shops Boys version of Always on My Mind always takes me back to 1988-89.

Cold misty nights. The smell of tobacco in the air - mainly from the old bloke with a pipe sitting two seats in front. Wooden seats in the Railway Stand. Bob Hazel and Steve Harper. Rudgie in a long coat and cap.

I think they had the same playlist for about ten years.

I know a lot of people on here will be disappointed if Doop by Doop doesn't get played.

They'd better play 2 Unlimited, No Limits otherwise I'll go mental.

Don't forget the Vale playlist in 1994 would have mainly consisted of rubbish tracks from about 1991 obtained from the Woolworths bargin bin.

That was 1993 you weapon.

The Vale playlist from 1994 I think consisted of a Beautiful South tape and an advert for Wilmer Windows that used to make your ears bleed.

Yes remember the Pet Shop Boys. It got so boring being played numerous times a match, every match.

In April 1994 (as we are due to play Burton in April), there were the likes of: Dedicated to the one I love(Vale) by Bitty McLean, I'll stand by you by the Pretenders, Mmm, Mmm, Mmm, Mmm by the Crash Test dummies, Most beautiful girl in the world by Prince and Everything changes by Take That.... now that would be great if we got Robbie and lads to turn up and sing it live!!! Over to you Smurf and Wildes.

Pipe down lad. I bet it was still in the charts in early 94. OK then, a bit of "Let the Beat Control Your Body" will do nicely.
