Sproson Statue.

It would defeat the object to have a plaque worth £100, surely you didn`t expect that. Take pride in the magnificent statue and the small part you played in it coming to fruition, surely that is enough.

I expected what I paid for and something I would/did consider worth the money..... what was offered was, in my opinion, worth £100... whats been delivered is worth maybe £10 and nothing to do with the contract I entered into..... I didnt expect the cost to the seller to be £100 if thats what your asking.

I didnt pay the £100 to play a part in the statue, I paid the £100 to pay tribute to a very good friend and season ticket holder who died in 1984.

So why are you commenting on a subject you have admitted you have no knowledge of?

No knowledge of? I'm commenting on the pictures put up on here and the fact it is a website for discussing opinions, so what's your beef? Dean pointed out I knew exactly what he had been sold, I commented I had no idea what he had been sold but I can see with my own eyes what he has got.

Pardon my ignorance but when people were asked to cough up £100 what were they led to beleive it was for? if it was purely to pay for having a plaque qith a nmae on it on the wall then I'd be disappointed if nothing else cos they haven't got value for money. If it was a donation to the statue and you got a name on a plaque then I suppose the vast majortiy of the funds would go to the statue if necessary with 'leftovers' being used for the plaque. But if the money going to the plaque was not enough to do a decent job then probably better not to have done them at all

Either way, the plaques don't look good

Had a look at the wall today and although it has nothing to do with me in the respect, i did not part with the £100,

i can understand people voicing their disappointment in the end result.

In my honest opinion it does no one any favours at all and distracts from the marvelous statue.

The fact that the wall itself looks a right mess and would benefit from cleaning does'nt help.

Paul.

Like I said, you have no knowledge of what was promised/sold to the people who paid £100 to have their name put on the plinth. So why are you commenting If you don't know? It's a simple observation thats all!

It appears a number of posters on this topic are in the same boat as me but you don't appear to be having a go at them, strange.
