Andrew reminds me of Kyle Perry, runs around enough but simply does not have a clue of where the goal is. Although I hate to say it but if he was deployed as a holding forward he could help Pope better than Hughes can. Sad fact is Pope has been head and shoulders above any other striker we have had and without him we could really have struggled.

 

Thats harsh when you consider we have notched another 39 goals that Popey hasnt claimed.

 

My main concern, like most, is that of Shuker and Andrew who are not good enough at this level coming off the bench never mind starting.

They both have to go in the summer if we were to go up.

 

Calvin Andrew needs some huge transformation because that lad hasnt even shown me hes a footballer yet!

Tranmere have taken Sidebe on loan from Stoke. Might have been an option for Port Vale.

Really don't get the Shuker hatred. He is a good player. Never gives the ball away. Agree should be released if we go up but more than good enough for League 2.

Shuker is a player who has played at a higher level for nearly all his career and played in a League 1 promotion team as well as winning player of the year at Barnsley during that period. He is creative and rarely gives the ball away. To see his full effectiveness requires that Port Vale play him in his best positions which has not happened so far. Considering he is not a central midfield player in 442 he has done really well and it was he and partners who got Port Vale in the top two in the first quarter of the season.

 

As you can tell I am fed up of people picking on Shuker including booing when he comes on. I would go back a few years to when he came to Vale Park with Tranmere and was the best player on the pitch giving us a torrid afternoon.

He hasn't really been given the chance to play and it is hard to judge a guy who keeps coming on as sub with 15 minutes to go.

It's easy to judge that shuker isn't good enough. He rarely gives the ball away? He rarely passes forward. He loses it every time he crosses or takes a corner. First man every time! He may have played higher but those days are gone for those little legs now. Shall we sign Efe Sodje? He's played higher. Marc Bridge-Wilkinson? It matters what they can do now.

Andrew's problem is clear. He is utterly brainless as a player. Doesn't seem motivated to do well either. Clueless on the ball.
