Ten Years Ago today

Sorry Valiant, it was the 22nd April 2001 as it is also my fairer half's birthday. She also went the game at Cardiff even though she is a Stokie, what a way to spend your birthday. I remember being in a pub near Cardiff Castle when John Rudge appeared on the big screen as part of Sky's studio team and someone chucked either a pie or pint at the screen, sorry time has faded the memory here. Happy days!

Easily my favourite memory in football. I was only 11 but I'll never forget not being able to look for bw's penalty! That day and the day at villa when we sold out the north stand are my best vale memories. Unfortunately I'm too young to remember the rudge era :(

And the lesson we should learn from those halcyon days?

 

With investment and ambition the Club has the potential to move forwards. We always used to lose our better players (McPhee and Brooker, Beckford and Earle, etc.) but where does it end? In Div 2 that's where! Letting your better players leave gets you knowhere. If only we had a bit of money and ambition at the top.....

Brilliant day for me also. Think we were in a Bozzer called the Prince Of Wales around the corner from the Stadium and it was rammed with Vale fans and a few Brentford also. One of the loudest Wonder Of You's i have ever heard in a Pub with the Vale.

Great day.............eventually did we win in in the last ten minutes? I remember being ****** off for ages...or was that with the price of beer in the minnelium stadium.

I can remember the Vale fans gave the Miners choir a standing ovation which seemed to please them and must have put in a good word for us with Evans the God. The view there was also much better than the old wemley stadium
