Vale or Bradford

Promotion, promotion a million times promotion. A cup final appearance would be amazing but for lasting joy I want, need, pray for promotion for my team.

I still remember the pride of having the Vale above Sjoke and in the old Div 2 (today's Championship). Port Vale were respected by so many in those halcyon days. I want those heady days back.

A cup final(even a win) is a fleeting joy and a statistic in the record books. Promotion hopefully leads to long term pleasure.

To put it another way....

Marry a good looking steady lass or have a fling with an absolute stunner!

At the moment it's promotion for me but if they win the thing, I'd probably take the cup. Cup Final losers are quickly forgotten. Smaller clubs like Millwall, Cardiff and Stoke have reached major cup finals and lost so it's not unheard of. But winning the trophy as a lower league club would an historic achievement never to be forgotten.

Actually thinking again, if it's a choice between winning the League Cup or winning League Two I'd take winning the league. Something that no Vale fan would ever forget and the ultimate achievement after 46 games.

A difficult choice. On the one hand promotion out of this god awful league is very appealing. However, Bradford will be making so much money from this cup run that if they dont go up this year they should be able to strengthen enough to go up next. Therefore a cup final and opportunity to strengthen to go up the year after probably wins it for me.

Easy - promotion. A bad season in this league sees you in the conference and difficult to get back to league football. Promotion gives you at the least a buffer from that happening.

Can't see Bradford winning it and who remembers the losers. How would they feel if they didn't get promoted and had a bad season next year and flirted with relegation.

Sage indeed old sage. Plus if we won the League cup, we'd have to keep mentioning it at every opportunity like the great unwashed down the road
