19/1 Vale v Bradford Pre game/game itself

There's no doubt football has gone soft - snow used to be a regular feature and rarely resulted in games being called off.

The development of "Health and Safety" being used as an excuse really ****** me off.

Since when do businesses have a duty of care to people walking to their premises? Do Tesco's grit all approach roads when it snows? Do town centres all close when we get snow?

Even worse is how the police can seemingly "advise" that games be called off because of the state of surrounding roads.....I thought they were there to serve the public, not dictate what risks people can take.

I very much doubt it will be on.

And we dont NEED to play it at all.

I would much prefer playing Bradford on a pitch that is more than 60% playable.

Our wing play suffers on a boggy, sticky pitch.

Its not a bad thing if it gets called off and played in March. Especially as we will be drawing o the end of the season and if our position stays the same we could pull in a real bumper crowd.

I can't think of a better time to play them.

They're at Crewe tomorrow, and Villa next week.

So they'd have a midweek game to emerge from with possible injuries/bookings, and I can't see them flying into tackles

on the cusp of their biggest game in years.

Get it on while we're on such good form and get the points in the bag.

Just read on their fans forum, they fully expect to rest as many key players tonight and again v us saturday ready for the Villa game........... Massive blow then if this one is called off!?.... :(

It will be off. The ground is like concrete already and with 4 more days/nights of sub-zero temperatures forecast its not looking good. Don't forget that the players won't have done any notable training either, due to the conditions and lack of winter facilities.

That forecast does not look promising. The problem is it's rarely above freezing all week for the pitch ot thaw. It looks like it'll freeze and stay frozen and there's not much the covers can do. Fingers crossed though, probably best to play Bradford sandwiched between their cup exploits. Also, there'll be 7000+ there on Saturday you'd think...

Yes. It is a good time to play them but it is only Bradford. If it's off, they'll just have to get beat another day.

They outplayed our full strength team in the JPT at Vale Park only a month ago. We recently lost convincingly at home to Fleetwood. There's a problem beating the better sides at home and your compacency will make us look a bit silly.

Although, I do hope with the new acquisitions we can sort out our home issues.
