I would like to see someone in midfield with the same sort of experience as Purse. If we could get him on loan at least for a month I would go for Richie Wellens at Leicester. He has returned to his parent club (I believe) after being on loan at Ipswich.

 

Now if we got someone like Wellens in,that would impress me.

Not really in fact quite the opposite - I thought we had seen the last of "bottom of the barrell" recruits when V2001 were removed, it appears I am wrong, our new alledged minted owners are following the same strategy , we should be doing better imho the last 3 are not whats required to improve the quality of this squad. Chivers, Birchall , Purse are not even div2 standard - and Adams making comments like Gills and Fleetwood have greater budgets than us is frankly alarming.

 

We need to follow the Crewe managers approach and get fringe players off Prem league Clubs not job seekers.

Agree with the last sentence. But the rest is nonsense. When we bring in a few million form player sales like gills, maybe we will splash the cash more. And fleetwood are spending stupidly for the size of their crowds, and we dont want to do that and end up in trouble again. I think we have a promotion budget (aiming for hughes showed that).

Fans may have been saying we need reinforcements for weeks, but untill the transfer window opened in January there was nothing anybody could do about it.

 

You've missed the point that I am making ie that Adams believed that we didn't need fresh blood when it was painfully obvious to most fans that we do. Your comment on the transfer window is irrelevant.

Spot on,the new owners have said many times that money made on the football side will go back into the football side,so i would say MA would get a large chunk of any transfer fees received to re invest in the team.
