DEAR PORT VALE

 

Please ensure that the local media pre-game explain which parts of the ground are ticket only and which ones have cash turnstiles.

 

Then ensure that on the day there are plenty of stewards at the Ticket Office queue to explain that cash turnstiles are available elsewhere and how to find them.

 

Otherwise we will have a repeat of the Gillingham fiasco where people were still coming in 25 minutes after kick off.

 

If you want to retain those returning to the fold you not only have to do well on the pitch you have to show that things off the pitch are now more professional.

No idea what his email is Jean - but the farce against the Gills ensured that the returning floaters would take a hell of a lot to get them back, but Micky and the lads have done that, yet one more piece of inaction and lack of forethought will see all that work wasted.

 

Its Bill Lodey's job to arrange stewarding so its up to him to place stewards in the Ticket Office queue with directions of what to do.

 

Secondly there's a woman, don't know her name, who is supposed to be in charge of media relations so she needs to get her act together and PROMOTE the game - even take an advert EXPLAINING you can pay on the day and what turnstiles are cash etc but above all else BIG THE GAME UP.

 

Perhaps Martin Tideswell can twist a few arms at the Sentinel?

Or get telephone/on line ticketing sorted by then? When I went down for the barnet game the Vale staff around the ground were very very helpful explaining the crack. But I was amazed I couldn't sort it in advance.

CP - For the Gills game at 3pm there was a queue from the ticket office down to Entrance D or whatever it is for the Hamil Car Park and not a steward around to tell the poor buggers they could pay cash at the turnstile.

 

Until you mentioned it just I wasn't aware that the Railway Paddock has cash turnstiles - I thought it was just the Bycars. So if a regular fan doesn't know the score why should the occasional fan.

 

I realise that it would help if they turned up a bit earlier but that's not the way with fans who are used to not having to queue.

Absolutey totally agree. If there is not time to sort out online ticketing etc everyone should at least know where they can go and how they can pay. As an occasional attender (due to location not lack of enthusiasm) I've had this problem with the Vale for years.
