Sam Morsy

Both of big Clayt's red cards last season were for two bookings.

Possibly Micky sees that sort of thing as more of an occupational hazard for a defender.

Well he shouldn't do, bearing in mind that McCombe only got four bookings in the whole of last season and Clayton managed that in two games!!

Morsy is a real talent and what sticks in Adams craw is that Gannon recognised it and gave him his first break and he didn't. There is no doubt in my mind that if Adams had not gone to Sheffield United Morsy would now be playing for another club.In fact, he probably will be next season. Shame on you Adams.

He acted like a child at the time and is consequently being treated like one

If that is true it is, in my opinion, pathetic and smacks of the school yard. How many times did Gary Roberts act like a child and get second, third and fourth chances? He had to be taken off at half time at Dartford a couple of years ago because his behaviour was so appalling. He played the next game. His extra-curricular activities were legendary but Micky kept picking him.

McCombe has done very well to stay out of the book all things considered. It's a very good record.

Big, slow central defenders like McDonald will get caught out from time to time and end up fouling their man. That's just the way things are. They get pulled up and they have to take the hit.

Micky obviously views what Morsy did as a different kind of stupidity.

Whilst I do think Morsy was needed today, Micky did say that his red card against Oxford was because Sam "went for the man". MA apparently hates that in a player and that is why I feel SM hasn't figured. Part of the SM learning process, maybe??? However, with the amount of possession SUFC had today(in the 2nd half) and possibly the worst reffing performance I have seen (notwithstanding Howard Webb at Joke on Wednesday!)I'm not sure Morsy would have had such an influence as to affect the result.

Absolutely. I guess Adams is one of these people who views the world as full of people who are with or im or agen im. And once you're down as agen im...

morsey deserves a good smack and he's getting it,grew knows about his nasty streak,so does micky and if he's going to make it he'll have to rid himself of it,being competitive is one thing going out to deliberately injure an opponent is entirely different. we don't need the lower leagues equivalent to messuer joee barton le grande provocatteur anglaise .

Another difference between McDonald last season and Morsy this may be that Vale are now a different proposition with different expectations. Standards have risen and if Adams thinks Morsy's a liability to Vale getting where we want to be I'm happy to back him on that, and I'm sure Mr Wildes will be too. You might call it double standards and disagree with the course of action taken, but treating players as individuals and saying what you think that person needs to hear at that time is surely what man management is about.

Also, rightly or wrongly, Morsy knows why he's out of the team and knows what he has to do to get back in it. Not for the first time Adams has dealt with the situation uncompromisingly but let's see where Morsy and Vale are at the end of the season before we judge.

I don't see what all the fuss is about Sam Morsy. He is very overrated and deserves to be kept out if he keeps making reckless tackles that cost the team dear. Other players have come in and done an excellent job so he will have to wait for his chance to come back in and earn his place like Burge and James have done.
