Werrington - we got under your skin in those days and despite you're lot 'playing' (I will put it in inverted commas) in the Premier we are still there - even on P&G tonight the bit I heard had a Stokie going on about how they had got 3 points in the Premier and 2,000 fans from Burslem were celebrating beating Aldershot in league 2.

 

You are our 'rabbits' mate and until you start beating us on a regular basis you always will be.

 

Would love to beat Sheff Utd and then get your lot down at the Incinerator. - You may play in the Premier mate but you conna score goals and your record against 'lower league' sides is pretty abysmal.

One got a decent chairman with a clown as manager spending money on average players, the other was run by a bunch of half-wits spending the same money on themselves. The one consolation is you could never buy The Pope.

24th November 1992, FA Cup Replay Port Vale 3-1 Stoke City. Brings back so many happy memories. Since those days our clubs have certainly gone in different directions. Stoke are now an established Premier League side, although listening to P&G tonight you might be forgiven for thinking they are in the North West Counties League the amount of moaning some of their supporters continue to do. After so many years of turmoil, hopefully we can look forward to a brighter under the guidance of messrs Adams,Wildes and Smurthwaite.

What can everyone see happening to our 2 clubs over the next 20 years ?

A match that still irates the neckenders.We were in the pub last night Vale and Stoke fans and it was great to see them still getting so wound up about this game.This game IS the greatest and STILL talked about game of football in the Potteries.

My cousin was there as a complete neutral, being long gone from S-O-T and having been to two European Cup Finals with Nottingham Forest.

In 20 years time, Vale will be playing Stoke in whatever new name they have decided to call League One. 3 more years in the top flight at most for Stoke, then a gentle decline throught the c/ship as we go up to L1 and stay there. We do win the Johnstone's Paint Pot again in 2018/19 though, so there's something to look forward to.

I recall us signing Nicky Cross and thinking just how far we had come to be signing someone like him. He took some time to get going but was a true class player and I believe one of Rudgies finest signings (imho).

hard to believe i was 15 at that game is it really that long ago lol, i was standing by the tunnel in lorne st, YES STANDING got **** wet thru and wouldnt have given that night up for the world. superb night, when we had strikers that were quick and a good solid defence that was.....quick!
