Oxford admission price?

Recommended Posts

£20 is probably not too expensive for most regular and committed supporters. However it is too expensive for the casuals and probably is a barrier to new supporters. It is new regular supporters that are needed . Therefore some sort of introductory / bring a friend package is what is required.

For some people it might well be.

If they are saving £5 per week now for a ST next year then maybe they cant afford to pay £20 now.Peoples circumstances and priorities are different.

Casuals are not going to put themselves out to do something that is not a priority in their life. Therefore the club has to put itself out if it wants to attract them.

It is a hard call on what to do for the best.Make it cheaper and more people are needed to make the same money. We are still in administration so would a price reduction be feasible?Would it work when the game is on live TV?

I notice Mike Aldridge logged on to here sometimes.Whats he doing now, would he be interested in returning. He had ideas and know how how to promote sales etc?

That would be a good initiative, bring a friend for free.... End of the day, our stadium holds around 18 or 19k?? Dunno what the figures are without lawn street being fully built...? But say we have 2000 pay on the gate.. And 2000 freebies... What a great way too drag in new supporters....!! At the end of the day the space is just going to waste anyway! And would bring abit of extra revenue... Anybody agree (say for this game only?)

Totally agree. You cant expect everybody to just fork out £200 odd quid in what is only a limited time to do so. And besides, as you say Melv, not everybodys circumstances and priorities are the same; people sometimes work weekends ect and not evrybody can make it for whatever reason.

I cannot see why people still think they have an argument against the admission prices being reduced? The club is still in admin for gods sake- people forget this.

The way I see it- the club actually OWE supporters who have been put off going due to the scandalous goings on at the club in recent years. Reward the fans who have stayed away for the great support when the club was enjoying the Rudgie era- the fans played a big part then. Get the true fanbase back and reduce the prices. After all, this is the bottom division for gods sake!!!

because we have no evidence it will make more money, in fact it may end up costing us money, as you pointed out we are still in admin, we simply can not afford to give up money

How will the club be giving up money if they can attract more fans to go? I know too many people who just will not pay £20- no matter how interested they are. An extra 1000 fans on the gate paying full price at £15 would result in an extra £15000 per home game.

Consider the facts- most fans who attend are season ticket holders anyway and the away teams never bring huge followings- its a NO BRAINER

you assume dropping the price by £5 will add 1,500 to the gate, i dont think this will happen at all

interestingly we added 2000 to the gate v Gillingham at £20 FULL PRICE by playing a brand of football people were happy to pay to watch, sadly we played ***** football and this moving forward will hit us hard

if its a no brainer im very confident Bob Young will allow you to take a share of the profits if we get 6500 fans there at £15 as long as you are prepared to cover all the losses if only 4500 turn up

Because not enough more people come to compensate for those who were coming anyway and then pay less. Hence, the club make less money.
