Not an out and out striker. Behind one striker (not two as us often mentioned as we would have no midfield) or left hand side of a forward 3. I think he will score more (and make more impact) in these positions rather than playing as the most furthest forward player, as that's a totally different game than the one he is playing and involves playing more with your back the goal (to which pope is better suited) which won't suit him at all.

 

Some people have mentioned his work rate being good and perhaps I don't give him enough credit for that. For me Pope plays down the middle and stays there keeping the central defenders occupied and being the target man most of the time. His job is also to make sure we have one big threat in front of the sticks everytime the ball is wide and looking to be crossed. Dodds is a player who needs to feed off Pope but also find space in the box naturally and take advantage on running type counter attacks. I think 'fluidity' is the word I am looking for and therefore I agree with you.

To run into space, he needs to be a little further back facing the goal, which either of the positions mentioned enable.
