Yeah I saw it live it was deffo a brilliant recovery tackle that saved Ripley looking like a right prize plonker

I too have watched it many times. I think Ripley had it in hand and would have cleared it, but hesitated as Sang came into play, leading to Sang playing the ball, it falling into their players path, and Sang making a last gasp recovery!

I still think Ripley is a liability sometimes 🙈😁

Sang & another defender had it under control. The bottom line is Ripley should have been nowhere near it & so far out of his box in the first place, only if their attacker is clean through should he even be considering coming off his line. Needs to pack it in & stick to what he’s good at. Guy gives me kittens whenever he comes out of his box

VTID, I agree but obviously DM promotes how we see or hear about Ripleys style of play.

Exactly. If Ripley had stayed in his box Sang would have dealt with it either by playing it out to touch or back to Ripley. By racing out of the box, Ripley created a situation where he and Sang were unsure who was going to take responsibility to deal with it.

I’m not sure that had anything to do with style of play 😂 rush of blood & just bad decision making for me

I have read a lot of comments criticising  DM for not bringing on the subs earlier. From where I was sat we seemed to really lose control of the game (even more so) when Paton and Chislett went off and our link play up top was non existent. Dipepa just did a lot of running around. For me DM should have either brought the subs on later or brought on different subs.

Croasdale was excellent and he is like a magnet to the ball. He always seems to be in the right place at the right time. We looked threatening in the first half and we had an edge to us that was completely missing in the second half of last season. Curtis had a good game but should have scored when he hit it wide. Sang put some great balls in but the Tranmere left winger seemed to win everything in the air against him, especially in the second half. The defence looked really good and I was really impressed with Hart at left back who seems to have a lot of composure when he had the football.

I agree that sometimes his subs seem late but i will say that Chislett had to come off considering he had missed games and Paton looked knackered so he couldn't of left it later imo

Slightly off piste from the game itself, but wondered if anyone knows the logic these days of cramming/kettling away fans into a small area of the stand? Tranmere bought about 1k I guess yet had only 2 fifths of the Bycars open. Seems a bit daft to me but I suspect stewarding and costs are  a part of it. Enables away fans get a better atmosphere together though. Just genuinely curious when there over 2 thousand seats vacant

You are correct. Number of stewards is calculated on amount of available seats, occupied or not.At the end of last season was talk of closing 1/3 of railway stand and paddock to reduce costs. Resident season ticket holders kicked off and it was quietly dropped.
