Vale add another member to team

Radio Stoke reported this morning that Micky Adams has added another member to his backroom team by employing a nutritionist.

 

Adam Yates said that not only will this season be based on fitness but also they are having their body fat regularly monitored and now also what they eat will be closely monitored.

 

Sounds like MA/KR really want the players in tip top condition for the new season.

A dietitian and Nutritionist do two totally different things.

 

If I want to get thinner, a dietitian.

 

If I want to eat healthier, get thinner, and perform better. a nutritionist.

 

It's not done Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs any harm having several.

Every sports club should take a leaf out of the England Cricket set up, no stone is left unturned into getting players to perform to their maximum. In the 90's the players had a whip round so they could take a masseuse to Oz with them, now its more like an F1 team. There is someone for everything from computer analysis to individual diets and 'conditioning'. So its a step in the right direction.

LOL. Dietitian is a protected profession in this country meaning that you have to hold the relevant qualifications before you can call yourself one. Any old quack can (and do) call themselves a 'nutritionist'.

 

For starters, try this. And then have a look at the raving idiocy and downright harm, that others, such as the high profile coprophiliac, Gillian McKeith, and Patrick Holford spew.

 

I'm merely suggesting that the money could probably be better spent elsewhere.

Not rocket science is it, unless you suggest rocket is a form of green salad. I bet George Best never had a nutritionist, well obviously not

 

It is a highly paid job for doing nought. I could tell the players not to go on the lash all the time and that pies are bad for you.
