I'm waiting for a 21 year old who dresses like something off Green Street to come out now and say "It was like when I saw them in '89" even though they were dragging a **** soaked nappy around the living room floor of their Grandparents house as their Mum went shopping at Gateway.

Being able to drag a nappy around at -2 is not a bad effort.

Other half was at a work conference this weekend and ended up in the room next door to Shaun Ryder. I could have got tickets but the thought of being surrounded by Liam Gallagher wannabes and the fear it could be a train wreck changed my mind. Glad to hear it was a good un and a great bands legacy hasn't been tarnished though.

Not gutted to be honest (the tickets were for either tonight or sunday though). I think comebacks like these never quite feel the same, and in some ways a tribute band to themselves (if that makes sense). Would rather a slightly smaller gig or a festival gig as well to be honest. Just glad it wasn't a disaster.

Shocking weather up in Kinross for the next few days. 100k capacity Godiva festival in Coventry was cancelled due to the weather yesterday. Reading a T forum, apparently it's very muddy and the staff haven't erected all the tents yet due to flooding.

 

Jaysus, must be bad. S**** weather.

I know what you mean Andy, but as it was the first time I had the chance to see them, I couldn't say no. If the Beatles reformed (clearly not possible), it would be difficult to say no! Wanted to see them in one of their first gigs as although they seemed quite tight on stage last night, don't know how long it will last.

Just come back from the gig tonight. Wasn't expecting much at all, for similar reasons to Andy but it turned out to be amazing. Better than I could have hoped.

 

They've clearly put the hours in. Rein and Mani are as tight as ever. Fools Gold was brilliant.

 

Getting out is carnage. I walked down Bury New Road as far as Cheetham Hill and managed to get a black cab on the meter the rest of the way. Loads of thieving minicab drivers trying to sting people for £30 or £40 quid for the drive back into town.

 

Anyone going tomorrow needs to wear wellies or sturdy walking shoes.

 

I was in two minds about the comeback but I'm really glad I went now.
