Davis rejects contract?

If Vale wanted to keep Ryan Lloyd and Joe Davis they would not make derisory offers such as £150 a week because that level of pay is not much more than half what you can get stacking shelves in Tesco.

These are young players who need to prove themselves and develop so they can't expect big wages but by the same token they don't want to be significantly worse off than if they played for, say, Leek Town and had day jobs as well.

At their age I would have thought around the £300 - £350 a week mark for the next 12 months would be ok with a review next summer based on progress.

Then again, what do I know?

God there are some thick buggers on here!

No way he will only have been offered 150 quid! You can get more than that on the bins or working in Tesco! Plus it's completely derisory for a professional career even if only just at the beginning of it! it would also be breaking all sorts of minimum wage rules unless classed as an apprenticeship!

Have no idea what he's been offered, but I suppose minimum wage depends on how many hours footballers officially work for.

Depending on the hours.... Davis and llyod have both been offered poor contracts, but neither are first team. As I say I know Ryan and his offer isn't what he wanted
