Vale nearest neighbours?

If, if Crewe get promotion Burton will be our nearest rivals, I think.

Macclesfield relegated and Shrewsbury promoted.

What other clubs will be within an hours ride next season in L2?

Rochdale is not too daunting a run from the Potteries, and Fleetwood an interesting trip, bit more than an hour but a night or weekend in Blackpool for many if we get a kind autumn date for the fixture when Blackpool hallucinations are on. Accrington is only just over an hour. Hereford if they survive and Cheltenham if they dont go up are relatively easy trips.

The second conference promotion place might give us Wrexham (unlikely now they are 0-2 down after 1st leg v Luton) or that ex-Vale players retirement home that is Mansfield FC.

Still an interesting set of away fixtures, pity we got a long trip to Exeter. Could do with getting rid of Southend, Crawley or Torquay - a fair chance of 2 of these ending in L1.

Vale will only ever have 1 rival that's the ***** down the road and we will meet again eventually

Dont worry they'll only have one season at best in L1.

I have watched Crewe over many years at Vale Park, quite often when both sides had decent Championship level teams. They try to play entertaining football and for that reason I hope they do go up via the playoffs, we get promoted next season, and we can renew rivalry in League 1. Before someone posts an I hate their supporters post contemplate that there is no entity called Crewe Supporters. They are made up of individual people - teachers, car mechanics, shop workers etc, so it is important to tell me why they are worse than Port Vale's equivalents when making a comment if you are going to.
