Match Thread: Burton Albion v Port Vale

A short trip for a Staffordshire Derby, Burton without a win but who will turn up, the team that lost by 4 to the Gas or by 1 to the Tractormen?  Vale not yet with a settled team due to a mixture of injuries, rotation, settling in, etc ,but hopefully keen for the points as DC tunes for a win? A surprise new face?

They played well last night by the reports and were Unlucky. They lost to Bristol and had ten men for 89 minutes in what was a bit of a strange result. They also scored four at Accrington in another silly score line so if we’re not at it they’ll exploit us - especially the very clever and tricky kelior dunne. These are the games I’d say even this early in the season we need to picking up the points. I expect this to be the game we get off the mark with an away win. 3-0 win with Harrison to get all three

They had a red card after a minute against Bristol so don't think that's a yardstick to judge.

I'm expecting a difficult game with numerous changes to the starting X1 again. Take a draw.

I think with Benning  available and Massey probably fit again and Worrall back, confirmed. By DC and Proctor back in I think we can win tbh

Well if we perform like the last two away games then we will get a real good spanking.  Here hoping for a real responce. In this division we need all players at 7+ not the 4 and 5s like the last two away games. Cone on Vale at least show a bit of fight and passion.

Proctor, for me, has been God awful so far, and is actually doing us more harm than good. I'd be tempted if I were DC to try 343 with Massey and Holden/Worrall either side of Harrison until Wilson's back.

So I haven't listened to the after match interview by DC v MKDons so if I'm reading right we are prioritising games I doubt that very much every game is a game if Vale win to puts us on the map ,every game is a lot tougher than league 2 theres no givens you have to earn every point v anyone in this league .
Not worried only v Exeter have we looked a shoddy outfit ,last night really good sides block them efforts at our goal but this is the same player who got the winner v Stoke for Norwich moons ago .
Enjoy Burton been 3 times a 1-1 draw Williamson scored a abysmal 2-0,defeat where we were reduced to ten men and were a shambles and last seasons fa Cup where we were pretty decent with Politic starring
Personally feel be cracker of a game .

A point away is always a reasonable return.  A clean sheet would be nice.  The main thing is we need to see a big improvement over our two away performances.  We’ve created decent chances in games so need to start taking some of them.

No idea how many tickets we’ve sold but I guess by Friday it’ll be good numbers again.

                     Stevens

Worrall Cass Smith Hall Benning

               Pett Conlon Ojo

               Massey Harrison

Leave Massey free to roam off Harrison as the target man.

Doubtful that 5 changes are made from Tuesday, especially as they are all pre-cautionary/ injury related potentially, but that’s the team I’d go with.
