Young fans

[Another shropshire valiant]

A few years ago after returning from a game I commented on the growing “average age” of our supporters, I was sat in the Bycars yesterday afternoon and it was lovely to see so many young fans at the game, now whether this is due to the success of last season or the introduction of the fan zone or even the relegation from the premiership of our noisy neighbours, we are clearly heading in the right direction….long may it continue.

Yes, it’s great to see.  Obviously the weather helps.  It’s just a shame the players don’t come over to the stands now to sign autographs or have a picture taken.  I think it was mentioned that there are some new guidelines prevent this, which is ridiculous.

Stone and Jones came over at half time to sign autographs and pose for selfies

Started taking my daughters last season, we went sheff wed friendly and most of the home games. We’ve had season tickets this year in the bycars, there 7 and 13 and starting there journey as life long fans. Hoping get a few away games in when shifts alow. The fan zone is great on nice days, adds to the whole experience for them.

Which stand, Bycars?  Must admit I didn’t see this, possibly in the queue for my HT refreshments.  There were a few kids below us shouting for players to come over at HT  but no response unfortunately.  My own perception is that during last season it’s not as common as in the past.

I was stood a few rows up, when Jones and Stone were signing all the autographs and having selfies, They spent a fair while there - it was lovely to watch, I couldn't stop smiling

and NO I didnt get a selfie 🤣🤣🤣

Ok, good to hear.  The queue for refreshments must’ve been longer than I thought. 😳
