Match Thread: Exeter City v Port Vale

It must be hard for an opposing Manager to identify where our goal threat will come from. Don't think Scott Brown would have been warning his team about Smith and Hall's deft finishes.

Get the feeling Rory Holden could get a start at Exeter?

Anyone know anything about Massey, is he injured?

I think I read somewhere that Massey was injured on Saturday

In the event Wilson isn't recovered I would start with Holden. I've never seen Massey play and he has a good career record. But going on what I saw on Saturday and acknowledging we need to be resilient in midfield and able to hold the ball up front when counter attacking.

Jay probably won’t start, it’s Jevani Brown you need to stop. But you won’t 😉

Eyup Fred - lot of water and all that since last time we met - good luck for the season apart from a couple of games 😍😍😍

Being able to hold the ball up surely is one of Holdens least attributes?

He's a small frame and looks lightweight. Will have plenty of skill and passing range but personally I'd say holding the ball up is a weak point.

Looking at the Exeter forum they seem quite confident of the points. I really hope for a repeat performance after our last encounter. A win for us would send out a big statement.  Here's hoping UTV

At this stage of the season I’d have been amazed if they weren’t confident.  Decent side and they’re at home.  We’ve done ok down there and hopefully that continues.

Are people really suggesting we should start Holden up front?

I don’t think Holden will start just yet, more likely he’ll be eased in gently.  I think we’ll probably stick with McDermott unless Massey is fit, or a new striker signs.

Just waiting on a call from my m8 in Kidsgrove to see if he's going Exeter.

If not then just been playing around on Trianline and can get a direct train to Exeter from where I live and just one change back.  So, hopefully will be there.

Leg is getting better by the day and seeing the Consultant tomorrow; hoping to get the all-clear and i'll be there.  👍

YYYyaaayyyy!

Been to hospital today and been told its OK for me to go to Exeter on Saturday; need to take my crutches but defo can go.

😍😍😍

Hoping to see some of you wonderful cheeky, cheeky whites in the bar at St James's Park 👍
