Today shows the squad still needs adding to and some of the players may not be good enough at this level.  That is DC and Co to decide who stays or leaves before the end of the window.

Exeter have been up for it and showed the Vale how to play well today.  Well done Exeter - every time they come forward you think they will score.  Fast passes, movement and when a Vale player has the ball a couple of them are there and trying to get the ball.  The Vale normally try to play like that against teams.

See plenty of posters looking for us to throw the whole of the project out of the window after one poor result. Sign, sign, sign, don't care who we sign just sign a 'striker'

The trouble is this result, and most likely defeat next week, are a consequence of the pre-season so far.

Defeat was inevitable as soon as I saw the team. We got away with it at home to Fleetwood but were never going to away against a buoyant Exeter, especially with Worrall missing.

I don’t blame Vale because the Play-offs do put you at a disadvantage in terms of pre-season and because the ‘normal’ market for L1 clubs has been massively distorted by the likes of Ipswich, Sheff Wed, Derby, Bolton, Pompey, Charlton etc.

Plus any new signings will be coming in cold now anyway, and effectively need a full pre-season.

I think we’re going to see some difficult results between now and mid-October.

Squad limitations exposed today.

Disappointing result even more disappointing response from the players when the 3rd goal went in.

2nd goal changes the games… awful decision from ref.
