Kinks Reconciliation?

Dave Davies announced today he is fronting a version of the Kinks that

will be mounting a world tour this summer in support of a new album that has

just be finished. The album is due to drop June 1 with the world tour starting

in Tokyo on June 30. A single, released on vinyl, CD and download, will precede

the album on June 23 and is a re-recording of the Dave Davies written Living On

A Thin Line, the original version of the song was included on the 1984 Kinks

album Word Of Mouth.

 

Dave is quoted as saying: "That song should have been a f***ing hit but that

b*****d brother of mine had a f***ing rider in the f***ing Arista f***ing

contract that the first three singles off of each album had to written by f***ing

him. He was an a**hole then too!"

 

The rest of the album includes all brand new Dave Davies compositions:

Other People In The Room With Me, The Spaceship Has Landed, He's

Still An A**shole, The Universe Is Healing, F***ing C***, He Can

D**glas C***, Why Can He Act Like A Normal F****ing Brother?. The cover,

reveals Dave, will be a throwback tribute to the sixties with a psychedelic style

depicting a spaceship of aliens crashing the grave marked R. D. Davies.

 

Ray Davies has responded with the news that he is mounting a tour as well

with his version of the Kinks which will include all surviving

ex-members including Andy Pyle. Ray has been quoted as saying: "I've

wanted to put together a simply wonderful stage show for the fans but I guess

they'll have to settle for this." Adding coyly, "I hope they like it." This

version of the Kinks also begins a world tour, this one starting in New Orleans

on July 1. An album of new material is due July 4. The titles are as follows:

Away. I Remember Pete, Taking The Mick, Jamming With Nobby, Dave Who?,
