F1

I have decided not to watch F1 ever again after the disgusting end of last season with the corrupt official giving the title to Verstappen. But looked back at the crash on my Sky App. The halo and general car strength definitely saved the driver's life and then the tyre barrier and fencing saved the lives of the spectators. I mean this is vintage car racing these days and obviously all the cars should be electric for max speed and performance but they still go quickly.

This is a ridiculous sport. Only got 20 cars and only that many because there are 'B' teams. Using an obsolete form of propulsion and planning to carry on doing so. Deliberately disadvantages the leader with the safety car farce to create a soap opera rather than maintain sporting fairness. And decided last season's championship on the whim of the race controller or because he was told to try to make sure Mercedes the dominant team don't win again because it's bad for the image.

Hamilton has only ever had 5 other cars to beat driving the best car. So yes I get he is good but F1 isn't the leading race format in terms of competitive racing.

Disagree on the obsolete engine form. It is very likely that E Fuels are the way forward, and F1 will be using Efuels in 2026, also, 50% of F1 cars power now comes from the hybrid.

Agree about the drama, it's ridiculous

F1 isn't really about the racing though, it's about engineering, as the best car is much more important than the best driver. Hamilton or Max wouldn't win in any other cars apart from the ones they are in

Been a massive F1 since a kid following Jackie Stewart.  Over the years it got more and more just looking like a fix. Last season was the final straw. This is not sport this is manipulated rubbish.

However Mrs TW still watches it so it was on. Towards the end of today's race we both said, Perez gets over a five second lead, five second penalty (i.e. no penalty) if not, no penalty.  No Sh Sherlock.

It's always been an engineering as well as driving business. But now it has become a "show" not a sport. And it wasn't much of a show today, despite rain safety cars etc.  A bore-athon.

Shame really as we very much enjoyed our trip to the Singapore GP some years ago. We used to go a lot. Not anymore.
