Really looking forward to going the New Lawn this coming season. Apparently,FGR will be using fans' wee to water the pitch next season.New toilet units are being installed in the away end which will "convert fans' urine into clean water and a concentrated fertiliser, both of which can keep the pitch in top condition".

They're taking the <ovf censored> with initiatives like that... :whistling:

5 subs may benefit DC in this way. He seems like a manager who loves in-game alterations.

Clarke made a quadruple sub at half time when we threw away a 2-0 and 3-2 lead at Walsall two seasons ago.

This proposal comes with upsides and downsides. The upsides are related to injury avoidance and giving more opportunity. The downsides are related to time wasting and interruption. Tactically, I don't know whether it helps as both teams can do it and in the end therefore the strength of the squads count most. Advantage to big teams - well maybe against clubs that try to go the season with a small squad or a squad that has a first team and a pile of card board players making up the numbers.

I am a traditionalist and loved days when an injury or sending off of a goalie would leading to a plucky midfielder going in nets. I doubt this will ever happen again.

It will, the 5 subs have to be used in 3 changes max, so absolutely possible that all 3 changes have been made and then a sending of / injury occurs in the 80th minute. You're right that I doubt we'll ever again see the likes of Liam Burns in nets for almost an entire match.

I think he went in nets away at QPR in September 2001, first job was to pick the ball of the net in a 4-1 defeat.

He was transfer listed following the club's humiliating FA Cup defeat to Canvey Island,[3] leaving him restricted to 15 appearances in 2000–01; one of these appearances was as a goalkeeper, as on 24 March Mark Goodlad was stretchered off after suffering head injuries on 28 minutes – Burns then went in goal and managed to keep a clean sheet in a goalless draw with Wigan Athletic.[4]

If this sticks will it see the emergence of 'plan B' players?

I'm imagining a 75th minute triple substitution bringing on a long throw specialist and two andy carroll type players.

Thinking about the vale and our normal line up who do you bring on to change a game we are losing?

Think we will be in the market for a bit of pace, trickery or brute force. Certainly Amoo was our chasing a game option so needs replacing in my view.
