Let's not get carried away. He did a decent job with us. No more than that. Shameful the way he was treated by Smurthwaite though.

As for his achievements with the national side, has he really done better than any others would have done with this same group? So long as you're a. kind of Welsh and b. a former footballer you're in with a shout for the Welsh national team managers job.

I think that's slightly harsh on Page. He was put in a difficult place when the Giggs story broke and was thrown in the deep end with only Vale and Northampton being his managerial experience. A lot of pressure for a young manager when you've got a whole country behind you expecting results. But he's a decent coach and knows how to get the best out of players and get them to play decent football.

Like Scotland, Wales have some young and decent players coming through but if you take away Bale , a fully fit Ramsay ( not been for a while) and maybe Ben Davies & Daniel James they are still an average side.

Beating Ukraine with the whole world rooting for them was a massive task in itself.

Wasn’t a big fan of his style of play at Vale, but I did want him to stay when he was forced out. Thinking back he did a tremendous job keeping us up and even finishing mid table with a squad in league 1 that had Duffy, McGivern and Williamson all as starters. Nice to see him doing well.

I believe he still is interim manager as it was said on the commentary to the game that Ryan Giggs is still under contract.

Well done Rob Page, achieved something for Wales that's not been done since 1958, but for me Ukraine were the better team and should have won.
