The Hamil End

Perhaps I am reading too much into the club's statement about the kit launch weekend but it says:

This year we are opening up Car Park C (The foundation Car Park) as a FanZone...

I presume what they mean is that the Fanzone will be there for this year's kit launch not that the Fanzone will be there all year (which would beg the question - are they switching the home end to the Hamil if there's going to be a fanzone right outside the stand?).

Anyhow, the statement is here sounds like a good event for those of you locally based -

My guess is it’ll be a 23/24 type thing and though I’m one of those very in favour to be honest that would work. Maybe use the Hamil for cup games so can iron out any logistics.

My gut feeling is we’ll swap for a given game then, if all goes well, continue to do so on an increasing frequency as the season progresses.  Small away followings only probably this season, for obvious cost and logistical reasons.  Just a hunch, not based on anything else.

It was a question, among others, that I could’ve asked Carol at the shirt launch but ended up talking about other stuff.

How many of these people who want the home end switched actually sit in the Bycars? I sat in the Hamil for the Swindon match & in my opinion the view is not so great. The atmosphere was created because of the match & not because people swapped stands. All these people banging on about a bar. I go to watch the football & not stand in the concourse drinking. Im sure the tea bar at the back of Bycars could sell beer. Ive purchased my season ticket for Bycars & would not be happy if I had to move. But maybe Im in the minority.

Spot on. I feel the same

It is a better stand but more importantly it is in a better location whereby you haven’t got both fans coming out together on Hamil road after the game, Tommy Cheadles can be opened up easier plus it is larger which should generate a better atmosphere when full. I can’t see why you’d be disappointed if you had to move, I can’t think of any benefits with the Bycars.
