Question - If we finish the Lorne Street where are the extra supporters going to come from to justify the £100,000 expenditure

Being able to give Derby 6,000 tickets would put a massive dent in that. We have to spend the money to finish the stand at some point. It's not an optional expenditure.

Seriously though, spending some money on getting 2,000 seats usable in the best and newest part of the stadium is better use of funds than moneypits like the Bycars and Railway Stand (and almost anything else for that matter). I'd rather see the lorne Street fully finished and the Bycars closed down than spend a penny on sticky plasters to keep the capacity at the current level of 75%. Whatever you spend on the current Bycars it won't change the fact that it's crap.
I would expect Lorne St Family area to be a priority but it may not be ready for the start of 22/23. Moving the Gym and allocating £200k are key. Other items in the ground are also in need of funds to ensure the ground is safe.

It is still worth it and would only take a couple of season to get the money back if they made it in to a safe family stand. I reckon if they did this we could see 200 to 300 extra on the gates which would take 2-3 seasons to break even, plus extra next generation supporters coming through.

Looks as though the club is still looking at it I stated before that we could even upon switching it to a home end change its name to the John Rudge stand, pop his statue there and eventually even look at safe standing for this end. Just my opinion ofcourse and it is alot to consider.

That's fair enough I think.

In essence, I think it's now the nitty gritty of getting agreements from the safety people, working out the logisitics that would all need to be sorted before anything could change.

I would imagine with the lack of off-season time this summer (what with the play-offs and the RW concert) and the fact that season tickets have already been sold, it's much more likely to be a "summer of 2023" decision rather than anything this season - and fair enough, better to get it right than to rush it.

At the very least if it’s going to be considered too late for league fixtures which I suspect will be their ultimate decision why not do it initially for all home cup ties and who knows maybe playoffs as a starter and then make it known there will be a permanent switch in the 23/24 season?

Very easily. 1 sell out game like last season alone with…what is the capacity of the extra bit? 3,000? So 3,000 extra seats at £24 is £72,000. From 1 game.

It's a £100K job. If we can't find that after getting promoted then we need new owners.

Trouble is, every owner we have had from Valiant 2001 has not had it. At least with Carol and Kevin the money we do have goes back into the club rather than into the pockets of Smurfwaite or MOLD.

Real answer to getting it finished? More fans creating the demand for it. 5k attendances don’t demand a finished stand. 10k would.

The key to a lot of this, Hamil End swap, Lorne Street seats, will be dictated in part by season ticket sales.  If we don’t see a decent uptick then the question is where are the extra home fans coming from to justify, and cover, the added expenditure of both schemes in the short term.

And a new P.A. System.

After being wined and dined at VP for Fathers Day, very nice thanks, we had a nosey around the Lorne Street stand and in a room at the end of the RW Suite was a big rack of what appeared to be brand new Crown amplifiers, so I’d guess these will have been installed as part of any new PA system.

I say swap it just before winter so we can stand in the heated concourse at half time to warm up for the second half

It’s not heated in there, although it’ll feel like you’re in a toaster as you’re completely sheltered from the freezing blasts blowing straight across Sproson Park which affect the rest of the stadium when the doors at the back of the Bycars are ajar for more than 20 seconds.
