Been excellent in the play offs especially the final. 

Lost his place due to gibbo and Worrall playing as wing backs but definitely made a difference in the last run of games.

I would love to see Mal get a contract extension as I believe he only signed on a one year deal.

I'm pleased for him too, basically got the winning penalty in the semi and scored Saturday.  I think he had a steady season by enlarge his form was perhaps a bit patchy, bad spell, good spell but it would certainly be harsh to release him based on the playoff games.  Anyone who scores at Wembley for Vale has a place in history anyway😁

He did. There was a post in the rumours thread saying the club had tweeted a new deal had been agreed only for it to be deleted. I presume that tweet was posted too soon but that an extension looks near certain.

I'm not being wise after the event. 

I'm quoted on here months ago. 

Felt he got unnecessary stick at times. He wasn't a patch on the last 8 weeks but certainly wasn't as bad as some made out. He was ok, 6/10 nothing exceptional but not worthy of the flak he got . 

I feel at the run in and when the chips were down he really showed his worth . And even if it didn't always come off he gave us an outlet and impetus. 

Hussey a totally different player, methodical almost robotic but has played his part in different ways.

Benning or Hussey, no brainer.

Definitely give him a contract if only for his quick response to Wozzas cross for that dagger in heart for Mansfield, the ground he made up to get on the end of the cross was phenomenal.

He started at Walsall and he got the title having scored against Chesterfield, I think it might have sent them out of the league. Sure someone on here will be able to confirm that. Someone on Mansfield forum saying he should be stripped of title after scoring against them. The majority told the individual to give their head a wobble and the title is staying. Spoke to his relatives in Box Park, nice ppl, said they couldn’t believe it when he stepped up to take a penalty against Swindon because they thought he’d miss. IMO it was the best taken penalty and a very difficult one as the pressure was on him.

Based on his first 2/3 of the season I wouldn’t be offering a new contract but the last third of the season he has shown quality and was excellent on Saturday, definitely deserves a contract now but he needs to show consistency in a higher division so if possible try and keep it to a 1 year contract again.

Looked a proper footballer who was trying too hard at a new club at the start of the season. Now looks relaxed and confident. Confidence is the key for all footballers.

I thought he was magnificent on Saturday and has been for a few weeks now. Always an outlet and has decent ability. He can also defend when needed.

Saturday his best Vale performance by a country mile.

Not great at all in when he was in and out of the team before Christmas and rightly so Gibbo took his place when he was back fit early in the season. The Swindon away game back In sept springs to mind when Benning was having a bad game, Gibbo came on for his first appearance, changed the game and was arguably one of our best players for that 4 month period til Jan playing out of position. I think Hussey coming in was probably a huge sign as to where Benning was in the pecking order and maybe he was even on his way out. But fair play to him, he’s played well this last couple of months and has probably earned himself a new deal. Some big decisions there for the management with Hussey and Benning I think.
