Stone was brilliant. Can’t say he has put a foot wrong. Maybe just keep them both and let Covalan start his comeback in early Papa John games. Doubt either earn big money, so put that elsewhere in the squad.

It does make me smile how some treat our GKs completely differently. Had it been Cov who had firstly failed to come for that simple floated cross into the box and then later spilled the simplest catch you will ever see, there'd be marches on Vale Park with pitchforks and a noose

Nope. Covalan was only criticised really for his mad sendings off. The odd mistake fair enough but his gaffes were madness.

I'm not 100% convinced that Stone has (yet) got the skillset for L1, or Lucas the temperament for it, but neither are bad enough that I can see them costing us significant points. Stone's late-season performances (especially the peno save) and Lucas' infectious personality surely mean we've got to give them a go again next season. 

If it doesn't work out, we can change one or both next summer (or in Jan if it goes properly pear-shaped!).

I'd be more focused on CB (Cass and/or a right-footed Connor Hall please) and striker (one experienced signing, plus Harratt and/or Edmondson on new loans if we can't get them permanently) as priorities right now, as well as getting as many of Gibbo, Proc, Smith, Benning and Woz (in that order) as possible signed up.

Covs a good keeper with a bit of a screw loose. I'd 100% keep him.

Stones a good keeper with room for improvement in his command of his area. Keep him too.

Let them battle it out in pre season for the starting birth.

No issues with either keeper - keep both

Personally I’d start Covolan. But Stone has done a great job for us and is a great number 2, but agree he’s not as commanding. Yesterday he almost cost us two goals, indecision from that first cross and then spilling the second. Thankfully it didn’t so who cares. Wouldn’t have made it here without him either after his penalty save.
