It would be disappointing if people get panicked into buying seats they don't really want because the release of the blocks where they do want to sit are being staggered.

Exactly this. I’ve ended up with a seat I didn’t want as it was all that was available at the time. I wasn’t aware of the phased block release when I booked.

Not a very slick operation by Wembley, surely an explanation of the system should be sent out to clubs as soon as they qualify. The process was quickly set up but we were left in the dark to grab seats. I have always sat at the side at the Old Wembley to watch the Vale. But on Friday it appeared that only end seats were available which I grabbed.

Yes have to agree why is the system not properly explained! I was shocked to find I could not book a seat! Then 1 hour later there were loads! I don’t think anyone needs to panic just be a bit persistent you will get a ticket. There is no way on this earth we will sell out

We’ve had similar issues the 362 times we’ve been to the new Wembley in recent years, although we had allocated ‘singing blocks’ which I’m not sure you’ve had? We asked Wembley to release certain blocks behind the goal for those fans who would definitely sing, not be bothered about people standing up, etc which worked very well.

And the answer to the person who was surprised at the low attendance between us and Blackpool a few years back is that it was during the Blackpool fans’ protest against their former owners so they had very few fans there.

We took 33,000 against morecambe (our first ever trip to Wembley in our history), then 22,000 the following year against Cambridge, about 18,000 against Blackpool and then about 14,000 against Coventry. Wembley gets boring obviously.

Yes mate, we’ve got those blocks for singing too. Good idea.

Stating the obvious, but worth noting, that if there’s a group/family of say 8 or 9 fans wishing to sit together, the individual making the purchase could set the filter on the website to 4 or 5 if you don’t mind sitting on 2 rows, one group in front of the other.  We did it, there was far more choice this way than trying to look for a row of 8.

Yeah we were aiming for Cat 1, and then I bottled it when I saw how limited things were so we're Cat 3 now. In hindsight I should have waited but with no update on tickets sold and there seemingly being very little left, I panicked.

Someone, somewhere didn't bother explaining that it was phased release to ensure we fill each block before releasing another.

The system is sound in theory as I don't want us spread thinly, but the lack of clarity and the desperation to get 9 tickets together led to a compromise. My tickets are sound but, again, I am absolutely staggered by the incompetence in the world.

They seem to be releasing them in blocks of 3. You would think that they could release at least 6 blocks at a time or at least release 3 blocks that aren't adjacent to each other. The tickets that were where I wanted all went pretty quickly on Friday before I could contact my dad. Yesterday we had a conversation worried that we wouldn't get tickets, decided to hold on and fortunately now have ones much closer to where we would prefer than what was on offer over the weekend.

If the 3 blocks released each time were in different sections it would at least give the option of not sitting somewhere where you really don't want to sit, it would also give them a better understanding of the areas where people would prefer to sit for future sales. As others have said if they communicated how many were sold, how many could still be released if required and the order that blocks would be released it would allow people to make better decisions. We aren't like Man City fans who often go 3 times a season.

Glad to know that it isn't just our ticket office that struggle to implement a reasonable system.

That's what we did.
With thanks to the very helpful lady in the ticket office who suggested that's what we should do
