Just errmm don't errmmm listen errrmm to errrmm Nigel errrmmm Clough errrrmmm being errrmmm interviewed errrrm.

He errmmm will errrmmm be errrmm another errmm moanarse ermmm who errrmmm will errrmmm refer errrmmm about errrmmm strong errrmmm refs errrmmm.

Short version....Just don't listen to Nigel Clough being interviewed. He will be another moanarse who will refer about strong refs.

He was going on about not having a pen in the 3rd game of the season at Colchester but never mentioned the offside goal in Play Off game 1,the 2 pens they should have had against them in PO 2, plus the 2 red cards.

Another of the one eyed priveleged managers who think the world owes them a living.

He’ll certainly moan that it’s another consecutive away game to contend with, after having to play the 2nd leg away as well!

It’s a flip of a coin game, we beat them at home fairly comfortably in the end and deserved the result but had a real battle at their place.

Mansfield don’t tend to travel well and their win at Northampton was their first against a top 10 side all season on their travels (8 losses and 1 draw) in the regular season and with our away record that’s something to take but last night did show nothing can be taken for granted and they have a very good team.

We are favourites with the bookies by the looks of it but it’s fine margins and will need to be at our very best if we are to win.

It’s likely to be a battle, they are a solid, hard working and physical outfit, the type of animals Swindon want removing from the EFL along with us but it will be a honest blood and guts battle.

Can’t call it. Two decent outfits.

Our goal - close-call for onside/offside but I think he was looking along the line and the Swindon player trying to block the cross was playing him on.

The was it a handball? was it a penalty?, did it come off Benning's foot and onto his arm? Anyway if you look at the jump and where he lands, it's by no means clear that contact is inside the box.

Mansfield v Port Vale at Wembley, I know that many people will be very pleased it's at Wembley and our first visit to the new-build Wembley; for me though this is a game that should be played at Villa Park, 45k capacity and considerably less travelling and expense. But Wembley it is! 🙂

I think its time sport, and football in particular, started thinking of the planet first.  Villa Park would have been great for this match and saved a lot of unnecessary pollution.

I get the sentiment but honestly seeing Vale walk out at Wembley will be up there with one of the proudest moments so far for me.

Am I right in thinking there is VAR for this one? Thank God we didn't have it last night!

If we had it through the season we would be on 30 penalties now instead of none with all the shirt pulling and fouling on Smith in the area 🙂

Yes, I know, and at least this is two English clubs playing in England.  Not as bad as Arsenal and Chelsea fans travelling to Azerbaijan, for example.

Of course, the other thing is the atmosphere. We saw how valuable that was on Thursday night!  Will a one third full Wembley be the same as a pretty packed Villa park?  I don't think so.

I've seen the Vale twice at (the old) Wembley, and they lost by three goals each time.  One was the West Brom Play Off Final, and the other the Anglo Italian Cup Final, when a very classy Genoa side beat us 5-2.
