Just seen the ticket prices £26 big ones plus booking fees for the cheap tickets and upto £60 plus booking fees for the best.

I hope Vale get a cut of this? Very pricey!

I would say it's fairly priced tbh to be able pick up a ticket for 26 pound is very reasonable

We're on the road, to Wembley Way,

Try not to worry, you'll get there someday

He blasted his pen, up up and away

Stop crying McKirdy

(fwiw I have been quite defensive of McKirdy that penalty miss was so deliciously narrative I feel it has to be commemorated somehow).

That's brilliant 😂, hope it catches on

Gonna be a rough couple of days with the media coverage regarding the invasion.

Try and be rational and non-partisan. Attacking players isn't on. Don't defend it just because it was morons who happen to support the same club as us. Front it up and admit it was wrong and the club should ban them.

I hope all the pitch invaders and in particular the ones that chose to hit out at footballers will be kind enough to donate towards the fine that will be coming our way. Carol has raised our profile to unimaginable heights, only to be dragged back down by these morons. There is no place in society for violence and particularly on the football field. Would you expect to be assaulted in your place of work.

Wow, what a night. Not just in football terms, but in my life honestly. I’ll remember that night forever regardless of the Mansfield result.

We have been so professional all the way through this tie. We refused to be dragged into mudslinging, player comparisons, arrogance and tit-for-tat nonsense with a team that would do well to learn from his experience and come out as better people and football professionals. We complimented them when they mocked our style and player quality, we humbly and quietly went about our preparations while they scoffed and soaked up media coverage in the most cringeworthy and unjustifiable way. Meanwhile we were making changes, managing Proctor’s injury and adjusting to the sad news that he couldn’t play and utilising a belief that has clearly been built over a long period. Also bearing in mind, they have totally misunderstood and overlooked our style. We pass and overload on the wings, play into Wilson’s feet and pass it out from the back. We passed and moved better than them on the night, and if anyone was hoofing it forward trying desperately to find their only mobile striker, it was them. Don’t believe your own hype, watch the game without ego-blinkers.

Dazzler getting sent off was not needed, I thought. Yes he’s out of his technical area, but the instigator, as always, often and uncalled for, was the nasty opposition captain and inspirer of much unneeded bad blood. Shamefully in the write up it says DC obviously lost his head due to family bereavement catching up with him. This comment should be complained about and subsequently an apology issued, because that is plainly wrong. In reality, it is what standing up to bullies looks like. That’s what giving an entitled group of egotists their own medicine is all about. Well done Darrell, you fight for us with a passion we haven’t had in a manager in my lifetime.

Every single player to a man was superb. I think we were clearly the better side. Did Stone have to save a real, clear cut chance in the whole game? I mean a real opportunity like the 3 or 4 we should have put away? We held possession, overlapped like the Vale that seemed unbeatable on our winning runs and stood up firmly and strongly in the tackle for 2 hours. Absolutely fantastic. It’s not really right to mention individuals, but Smith as a defender is as good as they come. That back 3, in the right positions, doing the right jobs, is our best 3, and we’ve got it right just at the right time. The mentality of this group is genuinely inspiring. Any of the many personal and professional issues that have plagued Vale this season could have caused them individually or collectively to throw in the towel. We are with you and you are with us, the players have been, to a man, a credit to Carol and the club.

They are going to want to drag this game out in the news for weeks; they have a lot of free time now after all. But we should not be sorry about the pitch invasion. Every club does it and it was 99% celebratory. Those fans that tarnished the evening with their antics should be found and banned and prosecuted, no doubt. But where is the protection against the abuse, goading and underlying inappropriate behaviours that rile the fans up? The club should just issue a blanket, ‘we don’t condone XYZ’ response and then move on. Don’t get bogged down in a war of words, let it go.

For me this game is separate to the Mansfield game. This is a moral victory for the players, a cultural victory for the club, and a testament to the real work that is going on behind the scenes. It’s a new club, and all the people involved in taking us on this journey have my permanent gratitude.

I’m sure if we lose against Mansfield all the little people behind their club badges, on their keyboards, cackling in the shadow of hate (Walsall, Crewe, Swindon, Stoke and whoever else wants it) will kid themselves that our pain is a win for them that blots out their greater and deeper flaws, shortcomings and delusions; but I say leave them to it. We are building so much, so fast, with amazing staff that will drive us forward season after season. I am so proud to be a Vale fan and our long term aspirations.

I went down the route of trying to pre-numb the hurt and disappointment by expecting the worst throughout the game. I barely celebrated when we scored, I clapped quietly when we went close, I ignored McKirdy to the point of not looking in his direction while all those around me hurled abuse whenever he was within 100 yards. I wanted solemn contemplation upon defeat or humble grace in victory to be my only prescribed options. I didn’t blink when we missed 2 penalties in a row, I stood cross-armed, unmoved when McKirdy blazed over. But when Iandolo missed, I think I literally blacked out for 2 minutes. The relief, the joy, the intensity, everything I had be holding in just came out all at once. I’ve never spontaneously hugged a stranger before, and certainly not 10, while crying and singing, but now I have.

What a night. Thank you football. Thank you Vale.

Fellow Vale fan. I don't always agree with you as the forum is all about opinions isn't it?!

However I have a lump in my throat reading this. It is the best post I think I've ever read. From the heart, accurate and I echo most of your feelings

I've never seen my son jump up and down hugging complete strangers but that is the how the occasion got to us all.

We've not win anything yet but last night is one of the most memorable matches I've been to....practically on a par with the PO win against Bristol Rovers when Robbie scored that winner

I don't know why but I feel really confident we will go through on Thursday. I don't know why as I've not been confident at all this season, even when we went 2-0 down I was calm. We seem to have played poor in a lot of first halves this season but that Wilson goal confirmed that this tie is far from over.

I'm not one to gloat....often, but I can't explain it, since Sunday I felt sure we were going through. I'm not attaching some kind of supernatural, it was written in the stars mumbo jumbo to it. I was just confident if anyone was going to turn a tie like that around it would be us. Sure, when we missed 2 penalties my confidence was rocked and I couldn't have predicted McKirdy' self-implosion. Just on McKirdy, he was pretty much anonymous throughout the whole game. The pressure of the crowd massively affected him and he was marked out of the game.

I think last night was Smudge's best game in a Vale shirt. He was a 10/10, headed everything that came to him, constant pressure on Davison, I can't think of a mistake he made. His error that lead to Swindon's first goal on Sunday looks like it made him even more determined. Maybe because we won I see his performance differently but I remember thinking during the game he was having an unbelievable game, plus he hit the post with that curling shot.

After our 2 missed penalties, the remaining were top tier. Benning's was like nobody was watching.

Regarding the crowd trouble, pretty embarrassing and on what was our best night of football for years we have people that follow the club that we really could do with never setting foot in the ground again. But I also don't take the moral high ground approach Swindon are trying. During the game one of their supporters threw a bottle at one of the ballboys that hit him. Granted, it wasn't glass, but you're still throwing an object at a child. I stood from the paddock and could see objects being thrown in both directions after the shootout.

I'm just so happy we knocked Swindon out, I'm so happy that Karma paid McKirdy a visit. I'm so happy that Wilson scored the goals that kept us in the tie. And I'm really happy that the first time I've been to the "new Wembley" is to see Port Vale play there.

I went to the old Wembley but I only ever went to see Port Vale in the Autoglass, Play-off final against WBA and the Anglo-Italian final so this has been a long time coming. I don't know about anyone else but I'm still on a high today, as assured I was that we would go through, the reality of it is incredible.

Seen ben garner been complaining saying that we refused it to water the pitch and that shouldn't be allowed. Am sorry but what world is he living in this is our home ground not his we get to call the shots on what we do to the pitch at our ground not the away team. Deluded beyond belief to even mention this as something he wasnt happy with.

It was definitely wrong and they should be banned for life and prosecuted. But if players like McKirdy are going to be winding up fans so much they can’t be surprised that much. If I went up to someone on the street and did the stuff McKirdy does I’d expect to get lamped. He’s got one of his teammates hurt tonight, maybe that will make him grow up a bit.

Maybe the football authorities / referees need to stop the goading & in particular goal celebrations in front rival fans. You get a yellow card if you take your shirt off, but nothing for inciting rival fans. By all means celebrate in front of your own fans.

ITs really frustrating and disappointing to see the trouble last night (although I didnt see it at the time from where I was).

The Pitch invasions are and have been part and parcel of big moments and the scenes of fans parading Tom Pope or last night Stone are what you love to see and images that go down in Vale folklore... however these seem to have taken a dark turn since the pandemic where sections of fans are just losing the plot, we saw it at Euro 2020 and the Vale incident is one of 3 or 4 from the play off ties, obviously the Forest one, a Luton player getting slapped and the flare at Northampton being thrown, plus Everton last night.

I dont get it? Why after winning to progress is the first though of these individuals to go and assault an opposing player? McKirdy is what he is but he has missed the key penalty and been pocketed, he is not going to Wembley we are so we've had the last laugh so why do people need to take it further? Same with their players comments we've done the talking with our football so leave it at that, celebrate with our players and fans dont be a moron.

The scenes at Exeter I felt portrayed the best of football, two fans on the pitch celebrating together and shaking hands but our name is tarnished over national and international news for the wrong reasons and its not acceptable, I feel for Carol and Kevin as they have done wonders with this clubs reputation and some Neanderthals have ruined that.

Right OK here me marks on a truly outstanding night at Vale park where for me the folk of the match were the supporters ,forget the nonsense of whatever happened after the final whistle went when your a club who was so near to liquidation and you were in that crowd last night you were magnificent as a whole so you get 20 out of 10 mark .
Stone 8 vital penalty save in shootout but other wise a quiet night for him as the lads in front of him were truly tremendous
Smith 9 had Davidson in his pocket all night and one challenge on Mckirdy was fantastic he was brilliant sponsor man of the match and deservedly so .
Hall 8.9 had Mckirdy in his pocket all night and passed it well also terrific player .
Benning 8.8 like a man possessed so positive set up Wilsons goal and scored the winning penalty brilliant display .
Gibbons 8.8 thats more like the Gibbons we know and love never lost a ball all night great penalty in shootout .
Garrity 8.8 brilliant as always great pen and nearly scored last minute of extra time with a header turned over by keeper .
Pett 9.1 my man of the match he wins balls he drives us forwards loved his display
Taylor 8.8 he's a class act thought once again he passed it well and he got stuck in aswell nothing wrong with his display for me well done young man .
Wilson 8.9 Scored the important goal but for me should have had the matchball missed a sitter before his goal and one flashed across the goal and even second half put one over when should have drilled it in back of net with his right foot .
Harratt 8.9 thought he wasbrilliant he stretched there back line and was so impressive that second half breakaway if only he shot straight away he would have had a goal his performance deserved .
Worrall 9 more like himself he buzzed about played a part in the goal and constantly was at it .
Subs Charsley 8.8 great energy drive and commitment.
Edmondson 8.8 put himself about excellently.
Fans 10 or should I say 20 it's amazing what encouragement does .
Same again at Wembley

It does sound that way but there will be some sort of booking fee. Want them posted? That’ll cost you. Overall the real cost will be £30 each to sit in the higher tier.

Seems rather steep, given I saw the community shield for £10 one year upper tier.

Still I will be going and will go for Tier one if available the mug that I am!

Thank you, I appreciate it. There’s so many opinions on here but the vast majority come from sheer passion for Vale. We gotta stick together.
