The ref was quite lenient which is probably their complaint.

Indeed he was , completely turned a blind eye to diving and play acting by My little pony and Conroy.

And also allowed Williams to chew his ear off repeatedly.

Very lenient.

We are very much still in this. Defend a bit better, and put pressure on them and we could be celebrating on Thursday night. If we don't do it, then we improve the problem areas for a top 3 finish next season

If it wasn't you m8 then I apologise.
But the negativity on here does my head on. WE are in the same position as Northampton - we both got beaten 2-1 by the better team on the day. We now have home advantage on Thursday and we absolutely can take them at Vale Park.

One other thing: while we had a great following today we barely broke in to song a handful of times, while they made a terrific noise.
On Thursday we absolutely must sing the roof off from minute one till then final whistle and really, really get behind the lads. WE could be the 13th man.
Think Carol deserves that
I was encouraging all game but there was a lot who were not in fact the most noise they made was when DC come on the pitch after the game and I thought at the time wheres that noise being all game .
Wake up Vale fans do you want Wembley or not .
I personally feel we can beat them I saw enough second half to totally BELIEVE.

What encouraged me was that as soon as we started to apply pressure to them, they didn't look up for the battle. Technically they have some decent players but I think if you go in strong on them they won't fancy it. Williams would go over in a stiff breeze and there were another couple like that. Their full backs gave us a lot of room second half.

Our fans were not as vocal as usual but this is understandable! Soaking wet having to queue for ever for food or go the loo. A very depressing experience to say the least . Then took forever to get out of Swindon then twenty odd miles along the cart track to get to the M5 .

Additionally, you could tell by their celebration at 2-0 that they thought that was enough. I still think that they think they have this sewn up, but those last 10 minutes they were hanging on and that goal will have knocked them, no doubt about it.

It's about using that little seed of doubt to push us on Thursday.

Go back through most match day threads. You'll find I'm pretty happy most of the time.

Did you enjoy todays performance, or the Newport game, or Walsall, or Bristol?

I like you, have been insulted just because we criticise or say something that upsets the Status Quo.

It is a Forum for ****sake!

We lose enough football games over a season but the smugness of Swindon has amazed me.

The interviews and comments from players and manager ought to be pinned on our dressing room wall as motivation.

Never known such an entitled bunch. They actually think they are massive.

Some fans already booking hotel rooms for a Wembley weekend.

The problem was no roof if there had been one I think we would have made a lot more noise

If they get through Mansfield will beat them not sure though if it’s Northampton

I agree. There was a real air of arrogance from the manager down to the players and supporters that didn't sit well with me. They talked like their away record means that Thursday is a foregone conclusion.

Records mean nothing and having a better away record means nothing. We need to start how we did against Rochdale at home or FGR....I don't think they'll like it up them.

Clarke's interview intimated that he'd had a go at them, whereas Swindon will have had pats on the back and high fives, which will hopefully give us the impetus and drive.

I hope whoever refs us on Thurs watches a replay of this game beforehand, too much playacting by Swindle.  Remember at one point  Williams throwing himself to the ground and getting a free kick, totally embarrassing. Was watching in a pub in Smallthorne and even a Stoke fan called him out.

I’ve seen tge interview with their manager and he so fancies himself as something he isn’t and moans about us being dirty which clearly transmits to their players: at one point I thought Connor Hall was going to land one on Mcsquirty but he doesn’t appreciate the at Vale Park on Thursday, so let’s ramp it up even more as that late goal gives us a lifeline but we need to improve our intensity, press higher up the pitch and less room to their arrogance?

Why would Swindon fans want to see Vale v Northampton?

It’s hard enough to get them to watch the game they’re reffing, let alone anything beforehand.

I have just watched the game back and to be honest I think my original opinion was coloured by standing in that awful away end getting soaked. We played a lot better and had more of the game than I first thought. Thursday nights up for grabs Swindon have it all to lose.
