For example, Conner Hall came in and looked class from his first game. Good players, are good players. We should wait for them. Still a hell of a long way to go before the transfer window ends. We finished 4th out of the 4 promoted teams.  We needed to add some better players just to improve on that let alone on established League 1 clubs.

And we will. Seemed to compete alright with the league 1 teams we played last season didn’t we?

Forest Green and Exeter took 1 point of us Bristol rovers 3. Players will come in we need players that will make us better sometimes patience is a virtue.

They were one offs.  Play those teams week in week out and we’d have lost more times than we won.

Forget the individual games it’s forty odd fixtures.  Look at the points difference between us and the other promoted teams.  I’ve got a lot of patience and quite happy to wait for signings but I don’t think we’re going to go up and take teams by surprise.

We've not got long to wait and see how things go now.

‘Lost more times than we we won’ What are you basing that on? You are presenting that as fact without any basis. We won’t know until the season starts, and that’s the great thing about football 😉

We finished 6 points off the top despite the tragedy with Darrell Clarke and all the injuries.

42 points finished 6th off the bottom in L1 last season.

I think we'll be ok.

The amount of negativity is amazing amongst some posters.

I keep seeing this point made, but were the L1 teams at full strength in those cup games or did they make loads of changes and play many backup options? Can't say that I ever noticed or checked.

Yes - despite the numerous problems we encountered. Without those I would have said top 3, at least?

Clearly hypothesis on my part, based on nothing more than opinion having watched the games mentioned.  The fact remains that we were behind the other promoted team's on points.

We won’t know much when the season starts but we’ll only know when it finishes. 😉
