Tbf I think that was the likes of Bailey and the other lad who got released,aren't Plant and McDermott a year younger? but you are probably right,it would be nice to see them get minutes in the Trophy though or as someone else said loans to say the national league north or south level

I wonder with regards to the goalkeeping situation if Ryan boot has been considered for another try, played for England C and Solihull player of the year. Just a thought

I know he is only 17 but i wonder if the lad McDermott could be our surprise package this season,he seems to be getting good reviews,looks to have pace and is tricky. I remember DC saying he isn't scared of putting young lads in as he believes if they are good enough then they are old enough.
Possibly one for the EFL Trophy games and see how he goes

Stick him in and around the 1st team.

Hype him up and say he will play for England one day like Crewe do.

Sell him for £3m.

No, no a million times no. To me Boot is one of those goalies who lets stuff in the middle of the goal they should be stopping. He's also dodgy on crosses. Of course I am going on what I saw at Vale Park and I haven't seen him play since.

Obviously you can’t judge McDermott on friendlies as we’ve seen before but it’s a positive move and we need to try and get more from the youth set up.

It would be nice to see him get some minutes in the Pizza Cup and go from there.

Only one game, but I thought he looked very good when they beat Bolton in the cup.

Quigley spent a fair bit of time on the bench after that.

Recovering from an injury and still under contract. Definitely not worth a fee

I'd say non league is about his level to be honest.

Official post on Monday (was it?), with pictures from a video meeting, with the capture "meeting with potential new keeper". So unless we're going for more than 2 new keepers, I can't imagine anyone "waiting to come", at least as of that time Monday... 🙂

Just a thought no rumour at all….   Tommy Lowery still in a <ovf censored> situation at Crewe. Would be a great addition to our midfield - maybe a player plus deal?
