Flitcroft - (or 'Flickers' as some refer to him, as though they think he's their mate.......when isn't his nickname actually 'Flicker'?)

Just listening to the pod again. He’s called both Flicker and Flickers.

57:36 of the pod paddy says…

I will be saying “bloody hell we are ringingTHEM… and on the other end of the phone They will just be like … Flickers, or like Clarky, how are you doing”

Using peoples nicknames in football is pretty normal I reckon.

Popey, Doddsy, Becks, Mad Cov. The list is endless.

This is one of the reasons we insert sell on clauses with players when they leave for undisclosed fee,you just never know

Yep, I can see him having a real impact there. I hope we did put a sell on clause in as he's still young enough for someone to take a punt on.

I do wonder how letting him go fits with the notion of developing players. Would a season long loan have been worthwhile, or has he been seen as someone not likely to make it as the club is aiming higher?

My guess more the latter. I'd imagine the management will have looked at him and assessed his ceiling as probably decent player to have in L2. We also don't really play with out and out wingers under DC and that's his best position. I'm not sure he could be converted either like say Worrall has been.

It might turn out to be a smart move by the club, if he stayed here or went on loan i still doubt he would play for us in league one and he would probably end up being released, going to York he could shine and end up being sold by them for hopefully a decent fee and earning us some sell on money(as well as the fee we received for him)

Sorry nothing to do with transfer rumours and not worth it’s own thread…. Have you seen Hussey on the pre season photos? He looks like a prized fighter. No doubts about his fitness.

I think Conlon is further ahead of his comeback then previously thought.
