Summer transfer targets/rumours, retained list etc

He is worth a punt as a squad player, but only if he can stay fit. I still think we need a right back, a centre half with pace and also a centre forward with pace as well. Given injuries last season we may need another two forwards.

Not really as for years we have promised quality over quantity and so far this looks like the strategy. I wonder if they feel Sam Robinson can be the right wing back and then we just need a couple of on loan strikers which will probably come later.

Given that he didn’t play a league 2 game last season I’m guessing not. More likely that he will be loaned out.

I think the essential thing now with any signing is that they have some pace(as well as some quality as well of course) as we look to be lacking in that department as it stands

Most definitely. I think we will need that in League 1 to really stretch teams.

No chance. You can’t go up a league and then stick a young lad in that didn’t play in league 2 in league 1. And then just sign 2 loans

That argument doesn't really stand up now that pre-season training has started. Anyone that had been signed (or trialled) would surely be in with the rest of the squad today - as with Cass, Ojo and Holden.

That’s exactly my thought. I was hoping the process would mean that we had already selected targets well in advance and that we would announce just before pre-season.

To be fair there’s still a lot of players out of contract and I’m hoping that we pull a few out of the bag that might make us stand up and realise we have a chance of competing in this league. Don’t think anyone thinks we will be promoted but we just need to stay in League 1 next season and then build on that.

Marquis has signed for Bristol Rovers,I actually think they will do quite well this season but players like him and Norwood who people have mentioned on here will always end up where the money is

Take this with a pinch of salt but a RUMOUR on FB of all places saying Covolan going on loan to Chesterfield,not sure how much truth in it(probably none) but i wouldn't be shocked to see him leave
