Rubbish that. We can definitely afford to finish the Lorne Street if we can't put an offer together to encourage Gibbo to stay. I think "the matrix"might need looking at, otherwise we'll be a team full of late 20s, early 30s plodders by the end of next season if we're not careful. Taylor probably gone soon too, so that'll be another under 25 year old one his way.

You ok hun?

Obviously left for a much better deal for him personally, which is fair enough. But for that wanķer Barton? Wow. Shocked.

It's ok SKLB,hopefully he won't see Barton after tomorrow for a while. It's his long overdue court case for kicking his wife in the head. Vile individual...

As gutted as most here, not just for what he did on the pitch. The guy seemed a bit of a talisman and whilst he may not have had the skills, minutes or goals that others in the squad have, he brought something to the team that we hadn't seen since some of the Rudge years. He was a genuinely exciting player, possibly the most from the last 20 odd years and it's depressing that he's gone to them, a club that appear to house their gym in an old garage. Wouldn't surprise me if they were top half, budget-wise, but am still bitterly disappointed. I wish him well but as much as we don't owe him anything and whilst appreciating that a player's career is a short one, he can shove that statement up his jacksy.

He's not our best player though is he?

Really weird move. They must be paying him a fortune.

I'd say we didn't want to offer what Rovers were paying with his injury record, whilst they were prepared to gamble.

As you say,he might stay fit now for the 2yrs of his deal there BUT then again he could do his hamstrings again, lets not forget many us thought his career could be over in the FL when he did his hamstrings again,so no one can blame the club for not wanting push the boat out,if we had and he broke down again people on the forums would be saying how have we wasted big money like this on a gamble..the club couldn't win really

It means a new body will be coming in anyway

It’s a strange move, especially to a club we’d be expecting to compete with but it’s not a total disaster, let’s remember he’s barely been available for 2/3rds of the last two seasons and missed for example the 7 wins and a draw that had us challenging.

We’ve always heard Flickers talk about value to the club and a huge wage on a player who may not be fit for 2/3 isn’t a good value… if Rovers were prepared to offer better terms then fair enough.

Odd that he reckons he wants a new challenge…League 1 alone is a new challenge!

Not the disaster it seems as his Injury record was rather poor and Clarke generally does not want to have a squad full of crocks. I will miss him, one of the best, but I don’t think this is a trend of all our best players going.

How many times is the man going to court and not getting any severe punishment.

Talented manager no doubt but an absolute scumbag of a human being

A 100% tu*d.

His Wikipedia page is shocking.

I would pack in watching Vale if he ever came to manage the club. Vile...
