No thanks. We are L1 and need to improve the 1st eleven not the squad.

FGR just signed one of those players. Their recruitment is bang on usually.

Signing footballers is nowhere near as simple as you make out.

I would love Jordan Willis for RCB. Mobile and strong. Willis, Smith, and Hall is a delicious back three. If I was greedy I'd want Ebanks-Landell to compete with Smith for the middle CB slot.

As good a job as Gibbo did in the playoffs, his strengths are at WB.

Yes FGR signed O’ Keefe because they are expected to sell Kane Wilson, the 1st choice player from that position. We are in a different scenario.

We have strong players in those positions, unless Gibbo doesn’t sign but I get the impression we are very confident he’s staying.

I really don’t see the value signing squad players at this stage.

Evening all, thought I'd just pop back In here for nosey after I recently did a couple of posts regarding harratt. So how are you all expecting DC to approach L1? Any decent names coming In rumoured around? Will he keep It low key keeping the majority of the promotion squad together with the huge togetherness and spirit no doubt? I personally think Is the best approach at L2 to L1 level as the bottom half of L1 is still pretty poor and most decent size clubs like yourselves going up from L2 should have no problem with any of them and hold your own with many of the top half teams. Either way should definitely be an exciting season ahead for you with some big clubs in there for some cracking match day atmospheres. Good luck you deserved a season of cheer as like us they have been in short supply over the recent years, and hopefully we can join you in there for 23/24 season.

Their DOF/head Scout is a local lad, Richard Hughes from Wolstanton. O'Keefe is a steady signing for them...but a lot of pressure to replace a lot of the players that brought them success last year.  Id be surprised if Wilson or Cadden stay, Adams has left and they have Stevens out injured until Xmas.

I think hes moved to Portsmouth now which is an excellent move for him.

Scrap that - Just seen that FGR offered him a bumper new deal to stay.

Although not working on the playing side, Adam Yates alluded to the fact there’ll be ins and outs between now and beyond August in his recent interview.  Make of that what you will.

Surely that should be the manager stating that not Adam Yates?

Just signed Armani Little from Torquay too, a really nice player.

Kane Wilson will go to the Championship, probably Swansea. A lot will depend on Burchnall being able to deliver as a manager, but Hughes is clearly a top DoF

Burchnall is quite highly rated by those who know him a bit from Sweden or wherever it was he managed before he came to Notts County.

O'Keeffe is another player who Nigel Clough let go but has ended up in League one.

The official site have just randomly reposted Mal Benning’s Play-off goal - wonder if that’s a precursor to announcing he’s signed a contract extension?

It was rumoured that he re-signed before DC went on holiday - a statement online hurriedly pulled as DC wanted to make the announcement when he came back.

That would make sense as DC is back now (he was pictured locally yesterday with a fan)
