York Oldham Chesterfield Wrexham Notts County Scunthorpe. The trap door from league 2 takes no prisoners.

Add Southend, Yeovil ,Torquay, Barnet and more .

It's brutal.

Thankfully days of looking over our shoulders and cacking ourselves are over.

Nope - it's still guff! Players from promoted Exeter / Bristol R / FGR and almost relegated Fleetwood and Morecambe are not suddenly going to grow wings, just because they're in League 1. Mid-table teams like Shrewsbury / Lincoln / Burton and Cheltenham are not going to get sugar daddies to enable them to sign players like National League Wrexham...which didn't quite work out! Anyway - good to see the Management are in a similar mindset with only 1 player going, and options being exercised for 2, and contracts offered to 3! No cull, this time - just Amoo and loanees Harratt / Edmondson to replace - with upgrades where possible!

Well equally consider that the best League 1 clubs have also tended to go on and do well in the Championship. Even Wycombe put up a good fight in their season.

I agree, low end league 1 isn’t much different, but we need to aspire to be an upper league 1 club. Nobody wants years of mid table league 1 tedium. We had that and all it does is suck the life out of the club, fans get apathetic and want more.

We (Huddersfield) are blessed with a crop of really promising youngsters at the moment and quite a few were loaned out last season to various clubs in Lg1 and Lg2 (plus a few non league) with varying levels of success.

IMO it bodes well for both clubs that Harratt appears to have been well looked after at Port Vale. Depending on the needs of your squad I'd be more than happy if we sent another of our youngsters to you this coming season.

It wasn’t just ability that attracted us to him it was attitude.  He was bought in to plug a gap, along with Ryan Edmonson from another of your near neighbours, which both players did admirably.  The attitude and passion from both was outstanding.  We found a team for the last couple of vital games which happily worked and Kian was integral to that.

Suffice to say that if you were to loan any other players to us, then a) they’d have to be sound characters, and b) have to go a long way to match the raw exuberance we’ll remember from Kian.

Did someone say the Twitter feed briefly had news of Mal B extending his contract before it was deleted? A mistake in fact or a mistake in timing?  With DC on well deserved holiday are new/re-newed signing announcements perhaps being delayed so as the manager can provide a real-time welcome message when he’s back?

Dunno Jean, how do Salford get away with it?At least Stockport get decent support.I can only think donations or writing off debt to owners.

If an owner of a league 1 or 2 club puts hard cash in, not loans, they can spend as much as they want. Otherwise Salford and Forest Green would be nowhere. Its different in the championship as that other lot found out!
