Is there any way next season of dividing the Hamil End?  There will be about 300 Newport fans In there in a stand that holds 4,500?

Don't think police will fancy it divided against Derby, Sunderland and Pompey 😀

Here's a idea move the Newport fans to the family stand and see if we can sell some more tickets or like someone has rightly said put some netting in the middle and put Vale one side and Newport the other in the away end and have police and stewards  in concourse in case anyone thinks there Billy big balls and wants fight anyone .

More backing for Vale do it Vale do something all I am reading this morning as anyone got tickets etc on Wonder of you page

How can it be sold out when there could be less than 10 000 there surely they haven’t knocked the capacity down that much have they

Away end will have about 4200 empty seats. Capacity is now 15k so about 11k today.

A new problem to be solved.

I know, for a ground with a record attendance of 49,800 we are now down to 10,000 capacity  plus the away end.

This problem only occurs every 32 years so its not a massive issue...

But twice in the last 2 weeks, 3 times if we don’t make automatic promotion.

In the Sentinel the capacity was said to be 15,036. With 4,500 in the away end that's 10,536 home seats. However, I'm sure that as others have said with work on exits and turnstiles I would imagine that could be increased. I certainly still expect to see plenty of empty seats in the Railway today due to the reduced capacity.

Just to expand on my point. At the start of the season with crowds of 5-6,000 I'm sure the priorities were things like players, coaching staff and continuing to pay off the previous owner. Without those things we wouldn't be in the position now to push for promotion. Yes, it's a bit annoying on days like these that there is less capacity but the owners can't do everything at once.

I'd rather we be in this position of having no free seats because of the team's performances rather than them spending a fortune on the stadium last summer and having a poor squad that would not have put us in this position.

They are targeting the PA system this summer as that's a vital safety element so it may be that they can't do the work on the turnstiles and exits this summer but I would imagine it's certainly there on a long list of improvements. I'm also confident that unlike some former owners they will be working with the council to find out exactly what does need to be done to see every seat in the stands filled and the capacity increased. Realistically, we're not going to get 10,000+ attendances that often during seasons in either L2 or L1 so it's only an occasional inconvenience and one I am sure they will address given time.

The allowed capacity in the Railway Stand is just over 2,000. There are plenty of exits from the back of the stand but then everyone converges on one set of steps down to the bank. I don’t know if that’s the problem.

The word Carol kept using about the ground was “compliance”. Looks like we spent a number years ignoring the rules.

I think there's a way we fans can help too. If we can put everything we can into raising the £100,000 LS concourse money then that gives us 2,500 more brand-new seats, takes the home limit up to 13,000 and the overall capacity to 17,500. All that's done without any need to improve any of the older exits, turnstiles and stairways.

Unreserved seats is another reduction. Lack of seats has not been a problem since we became an all-seater stadium, but lack of maintenance has caught up with us. Increased income will cure that but not over night. Whether we could go fully reserved may depend on the ticketing system.
