Match Thread: Walsall v Port Vale

Recommended Posts

Well,it's the wrong time to lose 2 on the bounce.

The season isn't over yet tho.

We can get to 81,so can Mansfield.

Northampton v Exeter is the key game for us next Saturday.

We could be as low as 7th come the Newport game.

However,we could be as high as 4th.

Like everyone else I'm disappointed.

It's not all over though. We've got to try to win both games and see where we finish.

As disappointing as the last 2 x games have been, I really hope people aren't too harsh on the players. It's an emotive time, everybody's stress levels are up & the players don't deserve a tonking from us fans.

Walsall are the only side to do the double on us all season & unfortunately for us, we've not turned up in either game against them.

We need to try & flip the psychology a bit now. We've never been very good at being the hunted, that's just Vale, we are the club that never quite gets over the line when in pole position. We all knew it was coming, we just hoped it might be different this time! This is what you sign up for when you choose Vale.

We are now chasing & don't really have a great deal to lose. Let's secure a playoff spot & see where it takes us. We look jaded & there are several players who look like they need a proper rest. If we can get some zip back into the players in the next 3 weeks, we've got as much chance as the other 3 teams in the playoffs. There's barely anything between any of the sides. Just who turns up on the day.

Let's back the boys next week & get them over the line for the playoffs. We'd have taken that at the start of the season, wouldn't we.

We deserved nothing today. No cohesión to the team , and Walsall fully deserved their win. We can only hope that Exeter do us a favour at Northampton next Saturday, and then that makes Monday a big game  against Newport. Still some twists and turns , but on that form we won’t go up by any route. To be fair, Vale are a tired side. Walsall had nothing to lose , so they could relax today. Vale didn’t handle the pressure. Worral and Wilson have been poor for some time now, and today they were just awful. Gutted

Best post of the day.

I'm as disappointed as anyone but the reactions are so over the top.

I'm gutted that Smallsall are the only team to do the double over us.

They'll live off that for years..

Dust ourselves off,try to win the last 2 and see where we finish

On the bright side, considering our goal difference we are basically guaranteed play offs. Considering where we were after Colchester that’s quite an achievement. We’ll need to play a lot better than the last couple of games though if we’re going to win them.

We’ve got a lot of tired legs out there and it’s showing in the performances now these last few games. We need some fresh legs and I’d try gibbo Monday and hussey back in. I’m not sure we’ve got the fitness to go another two games then two more play off games. It’s a step too far.

Sold out to Sky for next week. A win for Northampton and the pressure is on, edited by admin poor from Carol for that for me. The 70k we will get for that will be dwarfed by the losses on the gate and I said at the time. We will be lucky to get 6k never mind 10k that people are dreaming of for Newport.
