Match Thread: Barrow v Port Vale

GO ON THE BOYS!

Massive win and even better to win it in the last minute!

I was extremely critical and deflated during our ‘poor run’ a month or so ago. However, the lads have proved me wrong and gone on an unbelievable run.

Let’s get behind them as much as we can for the run in. Let’s pack Vale Park and sell out every away end.

We just might be on to something special.

Lets ride the wave but also try and keep our feet on the ground. The run in won’t be easy and we won’t win every game. Give it our best shot and see where we end up.

We are doing amazingly well considering when you think,we spent a big spell without our 2 main strikers and probably our best midfielder,we then get hid by covid, then our manager is hit by tragedy and today we are without all our first team midfield 3,Pett being out for a few weeks and we have still managed to get to 3rd in the table.

Lets back the boys to the hilt now,we all have a right to an opinion BUT please lets try to have no negativity for the last 7 games no matter what happens... our team, our management team, our owners have given us a fantastic season and one where we can all be proud at last

KTF for these remaining games ... onwards and upwards me owd fruits

Good post, feared the worst when I heard no Garrity or Pett. Let's hope we get Ben back for Tuesday.

7 games to go, 5 wins will see us promoted automatically, 3 wins the play-offs. "Up the footbal League we go!"

I'd say today was a poor win. We were playing ourselves at times our passing was so poor. Play like that in every game and we wouldn't be in the mix for promotion. Anyone who saw the game at 80 minutes wouldn't have said we were odds on to win it at all. We have to do better against Salford.

I don't think it's about the performance

Its all about results

I don't think FGR were great today but beat a doomed Scunny

Let's focus on the positives...3 points

On to the next one

I notice that RZ seems to be missing for a while now, maybe 15 or 16 games in total although i think he did nip on after one of those games 🙂

Maybe he is posting on the Crewe forum to stop himself from getting bored with them losing so many

I am in Barrow actually.

Just thinking about this “poor win” rubbish. With only 7 games to go, getting points anyway we can is the aim. It really doesn’t matter as long as we keep this run going. No one can deny a win was a fair result today given the amount of clear cut chances we created and missed in that second half. I don’t know what it is with some fans being inherently negative all the time.

It was a great result. Too often the poorer sides have been able to get a goal, dig in and get a win. Not today, the heads never dropped and our play too fluid. Totally different to when we last fell behind to a weaker side in Colchester, when we were totally disjointed and never looked like getting a goal.

Listened to the commentary on radio stoke today, bowers was excellent , you can tell he is one of us vale fans. Now I never phone or text radio stoke but I was hoping that someone would phone in and let mr blakeman know that yes vale and Mansfield both have 66 points but twice he said Mansfield have 2 games in hand , not on us they don’t. I must say though credit to the radio station today it was the vale day from start to finish over our illustrious neighbours for a change
