Thought that outstanding save from Stone when they broke first half and played a great ball to the far post would have been a nailed on goal if Holy was playing, simply because of his size and agility limitations.

Nah it was straight at him. The reflex save just before the goal was the one. We just got no luck with the clearance.

I think the key to our formation is having a midfielder who will gamble on log balls and flick ons to break the lines. A forward strong enough to hold it or flick it on. Wingbacks able to get up the pitch and link with the forwards (add gibbo into the mix and we would be much better in that dept  IMO).

I’m here, don’t worry. I haven’t been today (typically) due to family circumstances and so (despite being a season ticket holder and supported Vale for 35 years) that doesn’t permit me to comment according to some on here.

Great win for the lads and listening intermittently to Bowers & Sproson it sounded like we started off poorly but grew into the game after a fortuitous (?) equaliser then never really looked back.

I would say that, as @Bycarsbillsuggested today was vindication for what me and some of the other “moaners” have been saying, we’ve been underperforming by playing too cautiously and when we actually go after teams, we find out that we can score and beat them!! Who knew?! 

Anyway, onwards and (hopefully) upwards…

We currently have the best GD (+16) in the top 10 positions apart from FGR. Could be vital come season's end!

Funny that, given that how we've apparently got no goals in this team, can't keep a clean sheet, and have the worst keepers in the league

Well a nice days work in the end. Started cautiously but in the end worthy winners .

That player Oldham fans couldn't believe was a professional is now into double figures I believe? What a signing he's been. 

Stone with two really good saves now has the shirt. He was so unfortunate with the goal as the save he made was exceptional. 

I just hope this gives us a big confidence boost now. The next 3 homes are humongous given the table.
