Going against the grain, I thought we pretty much dominated them tonight, and played some good stuff, particularly in the second half. We didn't create many clear cut chances, but we were well worthy of the point, and probably 3. Cooper and Wilson were my bright sparks tonight. Both played very well,,particularly Wilson when he was coming deeper in the second half. Now unbeaten in 9, 6 points off 3rd with at least 1 game in hand on all but 2. Don't get the 'season over' comments, yet again.

No chance we deserved 3 there. They had a few decent opportunities 2nd half up until around the 60th minute. We have to start winning games like this. We won’t make the play offs drawing to poor sides every week. Well worthy of the point I agree and I think we shaded it but I don’t think we deserved 3. Sides above us in Exeter and Mansfield have 2/3 games in hand and even a game in hand on us. I think when we play those; that will decide our season - but we really do need to put away sides like this.

I actually thought that was the best weve played in a long while. Thought cooper looked excellent. Extremely unlucky not to take the 3 points

What did we create to deserve 3? Very worthy of a point but not 3. First half was awful. I’d say they created more than us, good goal from Edmondson and a cracking effort from Wilson but I don’t think that’s worthy of 3 imo

Smith will never bring more quality to his game. This is it for him. He's 350 games deep into his career.

He's a good defense-first player. That's all we're getting.

People will see this as a knock against him. It isn't - he's just not a player you want on the ball.

I mentioned Smith specifically as I believe his distribution used to be better and he was prepared to bring the ball under control and try and play. This season in particular he is rushed and has almost employed a safety first ethos. He attempted one bit of ball control in the first half and his second touch was a possession saving tackle, I though we'd seen the last of that when Legge left.

Is it a confidence thing or is it as you say, the best we're going to get?

I thought we were fairly good, I thought Harrogate were fairly good as well. We need to be much better… we’ve shown we can be but at this moment in time we look like we’re going to fall short.

Good points for me- Plenty of effort, great away support, we came back from a goal down, good goal, great effort from Wilson.

Improvements required- Holy's distribution, Walker can't play CB, vulnerable to pace, dead balls we have specialists but frustrating delivery at times, still need to get more out of Wilson as a good touch player, can't finish teams off, Pett indifferent for a few games, Amoo before Cooper.

Disappointed but we go again.

Unfair on Harratt IMO. Not had a lot of minutes and his energy gives us a lot. Other than that, fully agree. I don't get the Charsley or Holy signings.

That's my point. He's not had a lot of minutes in a side that doesn't score much. No impact. He started brightly but hasn't featured since.

Yes we didnt create a load of clear chances but thought our general play was excellent we looked really comfortable bar a ten min spell for them. We got into really dangerous positions numerous times and played a lot of balls into decent areas. Thought out of the two teams we were good for the three points

Didn’t bother watching / listening tonight as frankly I decided tossing pancakes with the kids would be more entertaining.
It sounds like a continuation from Saturday which was one of the worst footballing displays I’ve seen for some time. As others have said no creativity, no pace, no pattern of play. It is literally hit and run.

Got a strong opinion on tonight for somebody who hasn't watched it.

Is that a strong opinion on tonight?? Or is it a more general reflection on what I’ve witnessed more recently and expect from the team picked.

I agree with most of what you say apart from I thought Cooper had his best game in a Vale shirt tonight.

The biggest issue for me is who is the guy to create us something out of nothing to go and win us a game? Who is going to take the game by the balls and win it for us?

We don’t have a Politic or JMW type player. We don’t have a Pope from the promotion season.

Against the likes of Mansfield or Exeter it’s likely that we are going to need someone to win the game for us. Or someone to create a spark or excitement.

Agee with you mate, thought we were the better team. The much maligned Cooper looked lively and created our best chances and Edmondson put in a good shift and took his goal well.

There is still a long way to go. It’s League 2 in the middle of winter, I’m sure most teams aren’t playing scintillating football.

After the <ovf censored> we’ve gone through over the last few years I’m shocked at the fickle nature of our fans and the lack of will to get behind us until the bitter end.

We are still firmly in the mix for promotion. Let’s back them. UTV

I don't understand. He started well but hasn't had many minutes since? That is a selection issue. I'd say he looked good in the 352. We've been pretty impotent since the switch to 343.

I thought we were the better side, certainly but didn’t create enough to win the game. Looked dangerous at times but nothing in that final 3rd imo
